Description
A version of John William Waterhouse's painting Magic Circle, but set in my anthro characters world. Or something like that, did it just for fun.Done with Photoshop CS6 and Wacom Bamboo CTH-670 tablet.

Cannot believe I overlooked this before. The original is one of my favourites, and the twist you put on it does it justice. It may seem a strange association, but something about the more vibrant colours and higher contrast - almost moreso than the modern fantasy character - gives the impression of the very best of 90's comics; coincidentally the last era I recall when references to the old masters were still an occasional occurrence in the medium.
It's an inspiring sight. Do feel tempted to drop what I was doing and paint a Waterhouse study.

It's not among the most favorited of my paintings, but is one of those I'm more fond of. Now I'd render some things a bit different, but anyway I'm happy how it turned out in general.
Yeah Waterhouse is awesome, I love his paintings... well, and almost everything from the 19th century in terms of painting xD

She lives in a barren place inhabited by hermits, mystic people and other hippies xD
Most probably I'll make a background story for her now that I have her design and link it with that of my other characters.
