Description
So I have to add some description, but I hate to explain; so this is Cyrus the great's tomb (funder of Persian Empire) and it has been kind of a sacred place for lots of people since 3 thousands years ago (lol I'm already bored of explaining ^^), some Wiki links if you're interested: [link] ,[link] .
This piece took about 5 hours, I actually spend more time doing research before start painting, because Pasargad -is name of the palace- has been kind of destroyed so I had to use other Persian castles and palaces as a reference to find the colors and patterns (they don't have color either though, but there are some info about them).
I used wacom bamboo tablet, photoshop and photo shop's default brushe (only made 2 brushes for grass during the job) and that's pretty much it ^^.

Warning, Big Text ahead !!
Well im no fan of writting long descriptions either so... but really, youre getting bored of it way to fast XD
soo. about the picture:
Shading:Shading is not that bad, it just need some darker shades where the light doesnt reach ! As example the Ceiling to the Right..
A other thing is that you didnt plan the reflections of the surroundings.... every light that hits an object gets reflected to an certain direction ! Aou dont have to plan it 100% like it would be in reality, but its a thing that is always present at reality !
So its part of the shading. those Reflections count as second light source.
Shadows are to dark at the left.. same goes for the pillars ! I know its easier to just choose a dark color instead of 3 different ones to make it look real, but it does look very unrealistic ! its a baddy to shade with dark colors ! And Low opacity+dark colors is poison to every arwork ! all you do is to get an muddy look to it.
highlights: You need to highlight more ! not just the middle where the strong light source lays, but everywhere ! Add highlights even in the shadows ! not even at midnights are such dark shadows available, maybe in an pit but nowhere where the sky is present ! Some objects have edges... highlight em to get an better and more real 3d effect. Especially in the shadows !! important !
Add some Flowers to the grass
The Tree to the right looks really stiff and you got sloppy at the pillars to the right !
Add a lighter color you can highlight the pillars with !
So... things you did right, i have to comment:
The Angle wich the light source comes from is well defined ! Especially the building to the middle...(cause of the light in the shadow, reflection) the compositions of Sky Nature and building is really well done, good job ! I just dont understand why theres no pillar where the perspective viewer lays !! And you have done great at the 3dsized pillars that get bigger the closer they are to the viewer.
Perspective compositions lightsource&concept are well defined !
A thing you can try is to draw a perfect Sphere... you will notice that with the shading you got atm, it will look really boring ! But it will look great if you add the reflections from the ground ! Draw some 3D objects and get an better understanding for the shading !
Hope you dont mind that i have point out everything i noticed... Might sound harsh sometimes but hope you dont mind XD
And i also hope that you dont get bored reading this.... just as fast you get bored whenever you need to writte and discription ! XD nice picture !

Thank you very much, I certainly don't mind that you have analyze the painting so close and as a matter of fact, I really appreciate your comment, it is really helpful ^^.
You are right, the shading is a bit off in this painting and it has almost no solid highlights. My understanding of values, saturation and hue has increased comparing to the time I was doing this painting, and I am planing to retouch this one in near future, and next time I will make sure to do a better planing on values and colors.
I am still thinking about what flowers to add though, I did add some flowers here and there when I was painting it and it didn't look good and I think that's because of perspective problems that is caused by the size of the three humans, which creates a false sense of depth and since adding the flowers also create a sense of depth, the painting won't read due to the overlapped perspective. However I am planing to paint the humans again if I find the time and this time put them in correct perspective and add some flowers^^ !

What's especially noticeable to me in your work is the difference in quality between the figures and the environment/buildings, so work on your people!

Very nice tribute to the king!
I do think that the font figure is a bit distracting. But I like those in the back as they contribute to the sense of scale.

Thank you very much I think so to. I don't like the way that she is walking out of the scene it effects the overall composition. However I really enjoyed painting her so I didn't change it and also I wanted to create sense of distance between the woman and the soldiers.

The sense of scale is total understandable; however, the rest of your great work here does present the viewer with the perfect feel for that thanks to the nice perspective. And that is partly why she becomes distracting in my humble opinion because she really does not fit in that wonderful perspective.
