An older work of yours that instantly seduced me
It has a lot of feeling and if I start analyzing it by the technical point of view, the essence might get lost...

Not to suck up or anything (I'm not trying to, lol), but I think I was WAY underexaggerating in that first comment. xD

Wow. You have a really incredible gallery...
Just Gorgeous.
Do you know the swiss artist Giger? If you don't know him, you must like his job.
Good continuation !

This has got to be the cleanest & best Photomanipulatin I have ever seen,
You should seriously consider doing a tutorial on YOUR style of manipulation, I know you are self taught and this shows as you do not follow the norm and that is why your work is of such high calibre.
VERY happy to this one!!

IreneLangholm In reply to Wayman [2008-05-04 15:03:31 +0000 UTC]
Why, thank you so much!
I couldn't possibly do a tutorial because my process is highly experimental, and no particular technique would come out teachable. As much as I would love to be disiplined and structured, my methods may seem, to many, like chaos. But isn't art and emotion choas?

Wayman In reply to IreneLangholm [2008-05-04 15:28:56 +0000 UTC]
You are more than welcome..
Was not no much looking for a detailed tutorial, more of a rough insight as to how you achieve such fantastic results, BUT yes I do understand the difficulties of defining a set teaching pattern for your work as all or your pieces are so diverse, dont be concerned about being diciplined and structured as this would force you to be bound by rules, you are free, stay that way!
lol, maybe its the other way around? maybe its chaotic emotion that is art?
again, brilliant work

I don't know if I could teach patience. Or imagination.
I usually start my works with a rough paper sketch. And I can search for hours for the right stock. But that's only the post work. I really don't have a particular technique that I follow. I appreciate the beau geste though.
