well... I get this question on tumblr A LOT haha and I can only tell - don't think that you're drawing hair while you're drawing hair (does it make any sense? lol) I mean, try to simplify things. I, personally, see hair as ribbons. I usually draw all parts of the hairstyle and then I add individual hairs and flyaways for more realistic look~~
BUT i painted baek's hair on this fanart in a little bit different way I guess
i think i just randomly layered a lot of lines (hairs) on top of each other lol
i remember that it was a big pain tbh
