Description
There is not much known about Entropy's origin other than that it was forged several hundred years ago, likely by worshippers of the Earth Mother, and stored in one of her temples. A few years ago, a disciple of Chaos named Malphias discovered the temple and found the blade. Not knowing what he held in his hands, he believed it to be a simple magic weapon and tried to use it for his Chaos magic, with limited success. Not being tuned to this kind of energy, the weapon could store only small amounts and was more of a show piece than really useful. Still, Malphias was proud of his possession. He gave it the name "Entropy". The weapon's true name, if it ever had one, was lost to time.
While Entropy is a somewhat functional sword, it is really more of a wand that can double as a sword. Forged from darksteel, which somewhat betrays its positive origin, the most important feature part of the weapon is the earth gem suspended in its "eye". A Guardian warrior, for whom this sword was designed, would be able to access the Gem's power even in animal form, when not wielding the weapon.

So this was a bit of an odd project. The inspiration actually came from EVE Online's Triglavian "magic floating ball" entropic desintegrator weapons. As such I designed the weapon around the idea of the floating orb. The basic design came to me very quickly, I just needed to get the final shape right. Quite like the result. It is a rather simple, but not boring, design and the welding pattern adds to the eldritch look.
