Description
The Sons of Trident have, since their formation as a Chapter, always served as an auxiliary, specialist force for other Astartes or Astra Militarum campaigns. Having extensive training and specialization in submarine and amphibious warfare, the Sons have used their close allegiance with the Adeptus Mechanicus to procure special wargear and vehicles to carry out their duties. This has given the Chapter the unintentional stigma of being a specialist force, and even the re-structuring of the Chapter to limit its aquatic warfare specialists to its 2nd Company has failed to shake this perception. Here we see an example of a 2nd Company Sub Marine (don't you dare laugh; there's an entire Astartes Chapter that's named after the color of their armor), complete with his Trident-pattern bolter and Aquatic Mobility Pack (or A.M.P.). This gives the Sub Marine incredible tactical flexibility underwater, as they can engage targets at range and maneuver freely while doing so, with the A.M.P. providing them with incredible range in case of a lack of submersible transport. Should a Sub Marine need to surface, the A.M.P. is no heavier than a standard jump pack and can be easily jettisoned for added mobility, and the Trident-pattern bolter can be fired out of the water (though with a significantly lower accuracy and range compared to the traditional Godwyn-pattern). The helmet this particular Squad Alpha is wearing is the Trident-pattern helmet, which is unique to the Chapter and lacks many of the standard life support and sensory equipment normal Astartes power armor helmets provide. The purpose of this decorative, but primitive, helmet is to hone the Marine's skills, and show that he can perform his duties even when handicapped compared to the standards of other Astartes, as part of the Sons' massive inferiority complex.
The three vehicles seen in the background are examples of the 2nd Company's specialized vehicular support. Being a force dedicated to submarine warfare, the 2nd Company employs submersibles rather than traditional Astartes ground- or aircraft. These range from the small, anti-submarine Spearfish, to the Thresher transport, to even the enormous Maelstrom assault submarine and its complement of ICBMs. The Spearfish and the Thresher can be transported via Thunderhawk transport-variants, while the Maelstrom requires transport via a traditional, large-scale landing craft. These precious machines are custom-built for the Chapter by the Adeptus Mechanicus at enormous cost, even being constructed and shipped directly from Mars, and losing even a single Spearfish is a tremendous loss for the Sons, so the vehicles are considered sacred relics.

Yep. The Imperium can't make rounded shapes on their vehicles to save their lives.

Eh. The subs were the best I could come up with on short notice. I took some influence from pre-existing Space Marine vehicles such as the Stormtalon and Thunderhawk gunships, which are essentially blocks of metal with wings. I might flesh these out some time later.
