"You're lucky I caught you, little one," said the huntress to Amy, running easily alongside. "These lands are no place for a girl to travel alone. Bullwyrms and hammercocks sometimes prowl here. And at night, the..."

They rounded a corner. Huge fruits hung from vines strung across the ravine, each in the unmistakable shape of a human girl, belly swelling.

"...at night, the flowers of the nightsiren vine bloom," finished the huntress softly. "A group of wildgirls must have tried to forage here after dusk. Every plant has engulfed one, look."

The human fruits swayed silently in the wind. Tiny, useless wriggles were occasionally visible, but the only other movement was of ominous rippling within the gigantically swollen belly of the reddest fruit.

"Don't worry," continued the huntress as Amy glanced around in wonder. "They aren't dangerous once they've caught a girl. But we'd best be out of these ravines in case there are more vines ahead. The flowers open at dusk."

She clicked at her puller girls to speed up, and jerked on Amy's bonds, and the chariot swept onwards towards the city.

Only really exists to show the figures from another angle, but I got a bit carried away illustrating the kind of gribbly peril that exists in the world of my Amy comic series.
