But if they feel jilted or neglected, or if they just have a "sense of humor", they can make themselves quite a pain. Usually this only amounts to a mischievous annoyance, but it's possible to take it too far and with the wrong people.

Like this fairy, who consistently hid the left sock of the Darbyshire city alderman every time he got a new pair. For the better part of a year. Even when he traveled. As a nobleman he could afford to hire specialists to capture her, and so a week later, here she is in Langesketten Gaol for her crimes against the sanity of city leadership.
