Description
As some you you may already have seen I've been working on a set of artworks with the theme of an enchanted woodland. It is just like a normal forest but if you go there and take the time to look closely you might find the creatures are a little unusal
This one is a somewhat different painting approach for me. Its not about strong design or details, instead its all about creating a mood. I hope it will lead the viewer to imagine a magical unicorn appearing out the haze of a late summer in the forest.

I love the unicorn's muzzle. And the scene is beautiful. It definately fits what I imagine would be a unicorn's surroundings.

I think this is the best of the four fantasy ones..... followed by the mushroom fairy.
I think what makes this one a winner is the whimsical lighting and soft glow of the whole thing, which is also present a little in the fairy one.
I think the dragon and the Oak guy could use some ambient lighting, sunshine coming through the trees on the oak or brilliant sun on the dragon, perhaps some ambient fairydust type floaties in the air? The dragon and the oak guy are super awesome, detailed and colored very well, but compared to the brilliance of this one, they look a little more flat.

I like this. Traditionally unicorns have always been beasts of great mystery and power, and I think you captured that majestic aspect very nicely here.

is it making the foliage grow underneath it? Because the background seems a bit dead, but the foreground is growing.

That is interesting you say that. I wanted to keep the background (infact most of the picture) very minimal so as the concentrate on the mood rather than the details. However what you said sounds good
