Description The "Prophet" of a stupid-ass Covenant remnant faction I've been working on for the past few months.

The Prophet of Retribution, birth name Jajatt, is the leader of the United Balaho Empire Seeking Reprisal and Revenge Againt All Wrongdoers to Unggoy (though followers often simply call it "The Balaho Empire", since most of them admit such a name is "really fuckin' stupid, dude"). A spiteful, bitter Unggoy, Jajatt always despised the way his species were at best treated as second-class citizens, or slaves at worst. Once part of the Unggoy squad sent to help guard the Prophet of Regret on Installation 05, Jajatt grew even more bitter now that he was forced to help guard a member of the species responsible for his kind's enslavement. However, the Demon John-117 showed up in the middle of Regret's sermon, and climbed onto the megalomaniac's throne and proceeded to beat the living shit out of him. As Regret was beaten to a pulp, Jajatt hid for as long as he could. When Regret was dead and the Demon fled, Jajatt saw an opportunity. Looting the dead San'Shyuum, Jajatt made off with Regret's clothes, hover throne, and plasma pistol. Narrowly escaping being glassed thanks to the throne's teleportation ability, Jajatt managed to take a Phantom dropship and escaped Installation 05. After arriving on a CCS-class battlecruiser, Jajatt staged a mutiny, galvanizing the Unggoy on-station to massacre or capture anything that wasn't an Unggoy. Somehow this mutiny actually worked, and the Unggoy took control of the battlecruiser, renaming it the CCS Dance of the Scorned. After doing exactly what the new name implied for several days, the Unggoy decided to cut off all data connections with the Covenant military, and went into hiding.

During the Great Schism, Jajatt and his Unggoy managed to board and capture several more Covenant ships during the interplanetary battles, including three more CCS-class battlecruisers, and even a single CAS-class assault carrier. After killing and/or enslaving (where applicable) the non-Unggoy crewmembers of all four ships, the Unggoy's loyalty toward their seemingly unstoppable leader Jajatt began to inflate the bitter Unggoy's ego. With the unbelievably lucky victories he had managed to secure, Jajatt began to believe he was something far more than a regular Unggoy... perhaps he himself was looked down upon with favor by the Forerunner gods. The Unggoy rebellion force soon went into hiding, and in hiding they remained for several years. Amassing more and more ships, troops, and supplies from the shadows as the years went by, eventually Jajatt decided that his apparent divine favor meant he was destined to be the next Prophet. A true Prophet, unlike the treacherous and manipulative San'Shyuum.

Thus, Jajatt donned the former Prophet of Regret's attire, slipped into his hover throne, and declared himself to be the Prophet of Retribution. Having claimed numerous star systems in the shadows in the years since the Great Schism, Retribution set out on a genocidal campaign to eradicate and/or enslave all species that had wronged the Unggoy in the past. Humans, Covenant, whatever; All of them were fair game to Retribution and his zealous followers.

The Balaho Empire works on a warped, reversed form of the caste system used by the Covenant; The only major changes are that Kig-Yar still remain at the bottom despite the flipping of the castes (Due to intense racial issues that were present between the two races even before the Great Schism). The caste, from top-ranking to lowest-ranking, are as follows: Unggoy (leaders, heavy infantry), Huragok (Combat support, engineering), Yanme'e (infantry leaders, heavy infantry), Lekgolo (heavy infantry, Scarab and other craft operation, misc. roles), Jiralhanae (misc. infantry), Sangheili (Cannon fodder, snipers), and Kig-Yar (Cannon fodder).
Most of their ships have been jury-rigged to support methane atmospheres as opposed to oxygenated ones, to provide much more comfort for Unggoy crewmembers. Most other species are required to wear breathing equipment at all times when on-station, both for survival and as a form of retribution for the endless months Unggoy spent lugging around heavy breathing equipment. Caste roles are usually enforced by shock collars and other sorts of pain-inducing forms of bonding. Other, much more agonizing and lethal forms of punishment exist for those who step out of line, however.

Retribution believes it is the Balaho Empire's sole purpose to cleanse the galaxy of all those who perpetuated any form of mistreatment to any Unggoy, and to take their rightful place as the rulers of the galaxy. Retribution aims to take control of all Forerunner artifacts to use in his genocidal campaign; He and his followers are fully aware that Humans were chosen as the Forerunner's Reclaimers, but they don't care. In Retribution's eyes, if the gods wished for him to not utilize leftover Forerunner technology in this way, they would have stopped him a long time ago. His endgame goal is to locate and activate the Halo Array; not as a means to transcend to godhood, but to eradicate all the "sinners" in the galaxy.

He's basically batshit insane if you couldn't guess.

yeah because the shape of the head is fucked up in the upper left one, plus the mouth is in the entirely wrong spot

makes him look less like an angry grunt and more like a slimy old man

EDIT: well it's fixed now, at least as much as i actually can. still looks like a slimy old man but at least it somewhat resembles an unggoy now

Well, I read through all of that... it sounds like it could actually be legit in a canon sort of way. I was kind of intrigued when I first saw the grunt in a prophets clothes and a gravity chair and wondered where in the world he would get one. The story you cooked up made it seem like it could really be possible for it to happen.

I could go on and on with the rest of it, but all I'm going to say is that it's really good. A drawn art can go only go so far, but add a few words for it or a good little story to it, heck, even a plot with it, and it will go really far.

But i mean hey, thanks either way man!
