Description I've edited the image to make the grid in the background more transparent.

This is a short theory which tries to explain how the main devices of teleportation work and the importance of the Operators. However, this does not explain the weird teleports of some bosses through the games, only the energy-beam based ones such as those of X, Zero, Axl, Dynamo, etc. It also introduces the concept of teleport jamming which is frequently explored in my comic series .

That is a great theory. But I mostly payed attention to XxXOriginalCharacterDon'tSteal356XxX. He basically is lucky even survived the jammed teleport.

I wouldn't call a person lucky when she has a buster with an eye in the middle instead of a leg D:

Isn't it only about transervers? That would be something like the operated teleport without the Operator.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Thanatos-Zero In reply to IrregularSaturn [2015-05-27 20:42:38 +0000 UTC]

Megaman Zero 1 had the transervers without operator.

From Zero 2 we had Rouge and Jaune. Rouge comes with you in Resistance trailer in Zero 4, while Jaune stys behind in the Resistance Base.

Also here some comments by Rouge and Ciel regarding the teleportation transfer.

This is right, I was talking about those machines you use in Mega Man Zero 1 to teleport to other areas, which there isn't an "Operator", the real operator is the same person who's being transferred. I'm used to call the transfer machine used by Operators as "teleporter" or something like this, they have the same function of the supposed device inside reploids bodies and act on anyone who's over the platform.
The method they used to convert Zero's material body into a digital body in the Cyberspace should probably be the same thing Middy does to send X into the Mother Computer in Mega Man Xtreme.
It's also good that you linked these lines of the final stage, transferring someone who's in high speed would be the kind of opposite of external interference, instead of something breaking the link between Operators and Hunters, the own Hunters break the link, in this case by moving downwards too fast for them to make a transference.

Futurely, I'll probably make a second page for this text, adding these extra informations you reminded and a new kind of teleport presented in my comic. Thanks!

Thanatos-Zero In reply to IrregularSaturn [2015-05-29 03:07:13 +0000 UTC]

Actually it is still the same kind of teleport, which the operators in Zero use, but limited because they do not have the same resources the hunterbases had in the X series.
In ZX and ZXA transservers from Zero 1 are back with health regeneration.

IrregularSaturn In reply to Thanatos-Zero [2015-05-29 03:46:09 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I wasn't thinking this way. So the changes were in the resources available, not exactly the technology, and that makes sense.

Elmind [2015-05-27 17:17:59 +0000 UTC]

My guess on boss teleporting and the like: When Mega Man or a Hunter is assigned a destination they are warped to the safest area closer or within the destination. However whoever assigns their mission is unable to track the position of the Robot Master or Maverick. So the Mega Man or Maverick Hunter must track them down manually, which involves entering the risk zone.

The reason there are "checkpoints" is probably due to a location transfer: when the Mega Man or Maverick Hunter is "destroyed", they simply teleport back "home", but their helmet and GPS chip are destroyed in the process, sending only a "safe zone coordinates" to the reserve helmets at the base, which they can use to get back to the checkpoint. That would explain why there are "lives" usually in the form of a helmet.

As for Robot Masters and Mavericks, they are either actively tracking the Mega Man or Robot Master or they happen to be carrying with the mission and then they locate their enemy.

To support your theory, as stated in Mega Man comic, as long as the robot/Reploid still got their IC intact even though their bodies got severely damaged or destroyed, they can be rebuild again without losing any of their personalities and memories. And maybe that's why in X8 they replaced the extra lives with retry chips.

Elmind In reply to rizegreymon33 [2015-06-26 19:21:01 +0000 UTC]

There's that too... Makes me wonder if the Z, ZX and the like are actually "Retry Chips"

rizegreymon33 In reply to Elmind [2015-06-27 16:20:07 +0000 UTC]

What makes wonder in X4 about Iris' death is did Zero realize that she can be rebuild again just like what happened to him in X2? My theory is that Iris' IC had been badly damaged beyond repair or had been completely corrupted after fighting Zero against her will. So even though if she got rebuild again, she would be a completely new Iris who is a total stranger to Zero.

What do you think?

Elmind In reply to rizegreymon33 [2015-06-27 16:43:52 +0000 UTC]

Chances are that her mind was mostly replaced and, even if she got repaired, she would end up completely robotic and monotone, and her "new self" would only make Zero feel worse, being constantly reminded of how he could not save her.

WONDERFULLY Explained, man!

Would this be the same in the Classic series?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IrregularSaturn In reply to lag-roil [2015-05-27 16:18:51 +0000 UTC]

I don't know, maybe only the device that turns the robot into an energy beam and information. The existence of a vast cyberspace was never mentioned in the Classic series if I do remember well, and the wireless communication is way less advanced. Instead of communicating directly with Rock, as the Navigators of 21XX era do, Dr. Light needs to send Rush with those holograms.

In Megaman Odyssey a romhack, Megaman will have a communication device installed.
