This artwork is the last of the several drawings for Mega Man X: Unit 49 's Season 2 I'm publishing this week.

Several details of his backstory have been omitted to prevent spoilers. You can read his backstory in-depth beginning on MMX:U49 Season 2 Chapter 4 .

  Created as "RD217900-6" or "Six", a laboratory assistant meant to have no personality, Saturn (pronounced as Satān) had a defect in his cognitive circuit, allowing him to break free from that restraint. Saturn gradually developed a personality and a contentious behavior towards his superiors and even the world he lived in, resulting in an unceasing will to learn all things about the nature, history, society and technology. He caught the attention of the Director from the Research and Development of Reploids Bureau (RaDoRB), who believed it was possible to turn him into an actual researcher, and took him as his apprentice during six months. After that period, Six choose the name "Saturn" and began his works as a Reploid Researcher.
  After analyzing Zero's incomparable power, Saturn began dreaming of a Reploid that could be endlessly upgraded towards perfection and serve as a paragon of evolution to all Reploids, and that being would be called Paragos. However, such thing required a large amount of energy to work and was inviable with current technology. Years after, Saturn discovered dark secrets about the RaDoRB and pledged vengeance against them. After fighting the security and killing his superiors, Saturn fled. His last hope was his old colleague, Henry Snacman, who had discovered an exotic mineral that could serve as a reactor for Paragos. Henry denied and the two fought, forcing Saturn to retreat nearly destroyed and empty-handed.
  Saturn fled from the country and began developing his powerful "War Machines", who were frequently tested in government buildings. Seeing that potential threat, Signas assigned a team to form the 49th Unit and investigate Saturn. After many stalemates, the Maverick Hunters caught Saturn alone and destroyed his body, dropping him in a deep abyss. In the verge of death, Saturn got a new chance to live.
  With a new body and a mysterious power embbed, Saturn began his plans once again, and this time he would not fail. He used all his knowledge to sell weaponry for dangerous criminals and get resources for his projects, and waited Sigma's "definitive" death to start his conspiration against the Maverick Hunters and Earth's Government. The reason his organization is called "Neo Maverick Army" is that he wanted a schism with the previous organized Maverick Forces - this time not with the objective of ruling the world or being loyal to a virus. The Neo Maverick Army seeks to unite all the Mavericks-at-will for a common cause, accepting that each one has different ideals, just to overthrow the government and grant true freedom to all Reploids from mankind. After that, each one should follow their own path, while Saturn will be a saint that protects the world from any kind of rule.
