Loveroftheflame asked me for an Azula/Zuko fanart but I said I couldn't draw one XD so she said she'll be happy with Zuko kissing Azula's forehead... which turned into, well, this. A little more melodramatic than what I had planned ^___^'Related content

This would have been a much better end for Azula than losing her only friends, being defeated in an Agni Kai by her brother and a waterbending barbarian, and being put in prison for the rest of her life.

aww, sweet and dangerous. As evil as azula is i liked her as a character, hated she was phyco, an wished her and zuko could have been friends. lol, i guess i like jetzula too because id love to see a overprotective zuko beating up jet, i like jet but that;d be funny

She was down. He looked upon her, sitting on the land of the desecrated village, tired, weak, and fighting dark unconsciousness. Defeated. Zuko stayed stunned in his position as he still gazed upon his sister, the once almighty Azula, helpless. This was the time. He knew what he had to do for his nation, for the world. Determination returned to him as he strode towards her and his left hand ignited, ready to give a deadly blow. She sensed his presence as he knelt in front of her, the heat radiating from his hand. Yet she made no futile move to stop him; a princess surrenders with honor. His eyes searched her face, expecting to see malice, hated, but only found resignation. His expression softened as he moved his right arm to support her.
"Azula..."
She turned her head towards the voice.
His thoughts returned him to their earlier years, when she was first born, her first clumsy steps, how they would play in the palace courtyard. This was his sister. His once innocent sister. But also remembering her cruel smile, the Agni Kai's they have fought, and the people she led into death and the people she's killed herself, there was no denying what she became. The blood stains on her cheek and fingers stood testimony to it. Just a few months ago, he would have killed her on spot. And yet...
"You know what you've done. All the lies you told, all the lives you disrupted, all the pain you've caused, not only to them, but me as well." The look on her face as he earned his scar was branded into his mind. "But still, for all the hurt you've caused me, I forgive you." Surprise ran through her body and she faced him as much as she could. She could barely see him, but she saw the sympathy on his face. His fist was still burning. "I wish that you could have changed, but you always revert back. I wish you could change, but I know if I let you live, you'd go back to the same Azula." She looked at him, a confused yet subdued emotion reflected in her eyes. "This needs to be."
Her eyes closed as she slightly nodded. "....Zu..zu...," she whispered faintly. He carefully kissed her forehead, knowing that this moment would end too quickly.
"Goodbye, Azula."
He laid her down on the ground, her eyes still closed, and, in her stomach, took the final blow.

I dunno, that's how i imagined it. I rushed on the ending though. Grr. Anyway, AWESOME PICTURE. Totally faving it.

Thats soo good. I cant believe I havnt seen this. It look like Azula is defeated and slowly falling into her kness for her last breath, then Zuko gives her one last kiss on her forehead that shows forgiveness and honor. With that last piece of family she never truly appreciated, she falls to her death. woo I get dramatic sometimes!

Oh, goodness. Β You attempted quite an angle with Zuko; perhaps one of the hardest to draw... a side-view of sorts. Β And it turned out marvelously. Β Azula, too, in such a compromising position. Β What TALENT.

About the art itself...
The fire looks so bright, very dramatic. I like how the houses appear further back in comparison to where Zuko and Azula are in this. The pose seems to say so much more than any dialogue could. That's what I really like about your stuff, to be able to tell a story without words

This pic is truly moving. Even despite the fact that he hates Azula, Zuko still finds it hard to finish off his own sister. In one last show of brotherly affection he gives her a kiss just before doing what he must. The look on Azula's face almost suggests that she accepts her fate, and maybe even feels remorseful for what she's done. I SO want this to be how she meets her maker in the show.

You should have made him say "Goodbye Azula." That would have made it the best. He is my favorite charector, absolutely not a true blue fire bender though. He's a better swordsman if you ask me. He should have had his sword in one hand. It was still pretty sad.
