I love this depiction as it shows other sides of their personalities that I haven't considered before. I like how you include Celebrimbor as a child. The conception of this scene is brilliant!

Thank you very much! I love these characters and don't consider them villains. I think that Tolkien treated them biased.

Класс! Мне всё очень нравится...А особенно Хуан, малыш Келебримбор и арка, на которой он повис! Очень красивая декорация. И в целом очень люблю твоих нолдор и всегда очень жду появления твоих новых работ!

I love all of your paintings, Irsanna, they are all so vivid (in colors, composition and thematics). But this one in special got my attention. I am a declared fan of the Fëanorians, and I have a "strange" fascination for Curufin and Celegorm. I really like when people portray them in these familiar scenes.

Yes, I also love Fëanorians. And I always thought I was more love Maedhros or Maglor, or Caranthir, but in a strange way often come back to drawing these two. Celegorm amazing, special, with silver hair like his grandmother (this is probably influenced the attitude of his father and grandfather?), as it seems, it is not "intellectual" among all the other craftsmen, blacksmiths and poets (and the father allows it )) ) - hunter, impulsive and impetuous, but sensitive and seeing, who hear how the grass grows, pathfinder, knows the language of birds and animals, knows the properties of herbs, stones, and substances. And these are his unsuccessful attempts to marry) As one who simultaneously want to marry and remain free, he chooses girls who exactly refuse him, and then he suffering and said: you see, I tried) And his wonderful, brilliant brother. Maybe deeper, more wise. It is not clear who of the two of them often was for another as older brother)
You're draw animals - why you fascination for Celegorm who knew and loved them like no other of elves is "strange"? On the contrary!))

Hehe, indeed, probably I am more related to Celegorm than Curufin (for I am also a passionate person, dreaming....). But I also have a "systematic" side, as Curufin. I think I cannot relate to anyone of the Fëanorians, really!

This is something most parents can relate to... for some reason kids love doorways and can never resist the urge to climb as high as they are able... Cute little Celebrimbor with his dad, uncle and the family dog (!), such a sweet family portrait, right? No murderous elves, no thinking about things to come like kinslayings, treacherous Maiar, torture and death. Not thinking about that at all. Nope.

I think, they had such moments too)
But in general, I have my own point of view about the rebellion of Feanor and the actions of his sons. I think Tolkien is too biased. He writes from the point of view of the house Finarfin, but it's very one-sided. For example, the story of Luthien. Once the brothers in similar circumstances not saved Aredhel, and this has led to its demise. I think, brothers, remembering Aredhel, wanted this time to save Luthien from a relationship which for any normal elf seemed catastrophic. And Luthien defeats Morgoth and Sauron, but can not deal with the brothers? I alone see that there is something wrong here? Or Nargothrond. The city was left by Finrod on weak ruler, which later will indulge the vanity of favorite of his daughter (Turin and his bridge), Tolkien writes about the seizure of power, but to lead the city in such a situation, can not it mean an attempt to protect it? And why is the dragon-sickness of Thingol (and then Dior and Elving) better than the desire of the rightful owners to return their property, especially since it is backed by an oath? And so on.
Sorry for such a long comment, my bad English and disagreement with Tolkien)

Oh I agree with you! I am a Fëanorian apologist... in my mind, the Silmarillion would be quite boring if it weren't for Finwë and his brood stirring things up. I also feel the Fëanorians were sort of left on their own to try and clean up after the Valar failed to do something about Melkor. They were close to gods, for goodness sake! Why did they leave it to the Eldar, who admittedly were less powerful, to try and stop Melkor and his evil? And there's something very disturbing about Námo and his Doom, condemning a lot of people who had done nothing wrong per se. Fëanor made quite a few mistakes, and yes, his hubris got him in the end... but I still think it was an unfair judgment. And don't get me started on Túrin! I agree with Alystraea, who said he has two good traits: he's pretty and he's a badass warrior.

Yes, I absolutely agree with you, and about boredom without Fëanorians and about Morgoth and Turin too) And you're perfectly fine using the word "hubris"! There is a lot of material for thought! Whether it is "hubris" in a negative sense, as used by the Greeks, or is it the tragic property of being which feels this: "And it may be that Eru has set in me a fire greater than thou knowest", which feels the idea of the Eru in relation of itself feels Eru's creative power and answers "Yes, my Lord, Eru, may your will be done"? Because from this feelings is also impossible and ungrateful to turn away! Of course, following this path does not protect from mistakes. Feanor - one of the children of Eru, part of His plan. Do not fall there the valar in the same hubris, trying to stop the action of the plan of Eru in His children, trying to preserve the old order, his power, the strange state of things in which is possible Morgoth, the self-will of Namo, is needed and finds enough food Nienna? Plus, of course, envy and jealousy of the elves, of gods and men, as without them. In the early Greek tradition, the envy and jealousy of the gods is considered to be something legitimate, but is unless the overcoming of vices and the limitations of the gods will not correct the world for the better?
Yes, I have to explain: to me the affection of Fëanor to silmarills does not come from the dragon sickness, Silmaril for Fëanor is a means to make the world better, a means to overcome the power Mandos over life and death elves, like the philosopher's stone. Feanor wouldn't stop and wouldn't just admire what he done, and valar in this case, too, would not want so much to deprive him of silmarills.

my kids just loved doing that, climbing up in the doorframe, best with bare feet, they stick better to the smooth surface. I admit I did it as well as a kid, but we never hat a nice decoration to hang from (I tried though from the curtain rod of out shower curtain... the scolding was murderous)
