(I wanted to give her a Venus flytrap like one of my old pets (r.i.p. Vinnie ily) but succulents are slightly easier to draw.)

I wanted their rooms to reflect personalities that would be reasonable for them as young teens, like
I get the feeling that Miku would be nurturing and sentimental, so boom she takes care of plants and keeps a teddy bear (thanks again for that suggestion) and her room is all clean and bright
Then I also feel like Len would be a quiet brooding type with a million thoughts at once, so he'd have a messy chaotic, claustrophobic room

you really nailed it then, even in their poses the personality shows !!

like how miku is open with her emotions and both her expression and body, while len being less so, he's more hidden with his feelings and locked up, and it shows in his pulled inward pose --

Listen amigo I aLSO LOVE painting Miku with cold colors while Len is all warm colors, that contrast is one of my favourite things about them visually

don't worry about it! mine has been criticized for that too, and i've tried to change it but i've never liked the look nearly as much. for some stuff (mostly for uni) i'll render stuff more carefully, but for a lot of personal stuff i'll do rougher blending and i'll like it so much more
