Interesting play with lines and shadows, as in each and every single one of your photographs!

There's far too little columns in my town. Very interesting mix of pattern, wooden grid against the columns.

So our countries have similar details of architecture

To some degree, the older styles of arcitechture - what's left of it. But I do think you take better care of it - it looks like krakow has kept a lot of its old architecture. I think it's generally poor building/city planning in Norway, if one wants to build a tasteless shopping centre and someone else wants to look at an alternative that might be better suited for the surroundings (but not necessarily more lucrative) - the shopping centre often wins out. I think that's a shame, I'm not saying we should never innovate - we need innovation, but what actually happens more often than not is that you end up with something ugly. That's the bigger places, the cities (more like towns really - we have very small cities here. Oslo is the biggest. Probably because of the geography of Norway I should think. )
When it comes to Norway, think wood. Inland, and all along the coastline, wooden houses - in towns, smaller towns, and tiny towns. Norwegian wood is not just a Beatles song you know.

I understand, but I always have an expression that architecture in Norway is really interesting, maybe I don't know a lot of it but examples which I know are great(on the other hand I have to get to now this issue more deeply)In Poland we have a few big ugly shopping centre too, which is biggest there is more terrible for me. It's a problem of scale this buildings, people feel strange in space where can't find human scale and can't feel good and cosy.

Well, there are some examples of some interesting architecture too, it's not all bad (shopping centres ), but I just wish it was taken more consideration to how our towns and cities look. I'm sure that's a problem many other places too, not just here. Yes, it's the size of the things, they take over completely in the cityspace, and they're often ugly on the inside too...and unwelcoming, like you say. I think that's true for many, although there are some who like steel and concrete...
If they had made it in, say a proper modernist or functionalist style, it might have been acceptable - that's a style after all, not just a grey box... Personally, I like little shops better than a large department store - even if they do have a bigger stock!

I agree with you These examples which are in modernist or functionalist style can be very good, of course when architects and engeeniers see sourrouding spaces.
If it's about me i like smaller shops than big shopping centre too.

Definitely. They have their own charm, the malls are so stale and lifeless... I'm working on some new pictures of the town, but I really wish I had a better camera. Oh well, we'll see maybe they'll be alright.
