Description The NetherRealm

“Hell, the one place everyone shows a curiosity for, but, where no one wants to go.” (Unknown)

Quan Chi and his revenants looked on, as his small portal allowed them to observe the resent events that had just transpired. David’s arrival into the Outworld, his victory against Princess Kitana, and his aiding Mileena and her rebels against Kotal Kahn and his minions, nonetheless, Quan Chi was very intrigued by the power this interdimensional traveler possessed.
“Hmm, an interdimensional traveler who possess a power that allows him the ability to travel between dimensions, can summon defensive and offensive weaponry at will, has the capability to hold a soul within his amulet, and has the potential to manipulate time.” Even Quan Chi seemed spell bound for a few seconds.
Tell me, how did such a meagre human come to acquire such power? How even I could not see nor sense his arrival?
The revenants looked on.
“Well, would anybody care to answer?” Quan Chi seemed to be a little perturbed by his revenant’s unwillingness to answer him.
“Perhaps he has the ability to hide himself, a sort of camouflage, while he is traveling between dimensions. It could also be the wormhole itself.” Revenant Sindel said.
“He also seemed to mention something he classified as The Archon of Hell. Whatever that or it is, may very well be where he acquires his power.” Enenra spoke in his demonic tone.
“Whatever it may be is arbitrary to what he could bring us and teach us, so, we and we alone shall enjoy the fruits of that discovery. Now, Sindel, Enenra. The both of you will travel to Outworld and locate this Archon of Hell. Capture him using any means you deem appropriate, but, bring him to me, alive, understand?”
“Your wish is our command, Lord Quan Chi.” Both Sindel and Enenra spoke in unison.
Kabal, Striker, Noob Saibot and Nightwolf you will accompy me to the site of Milenna’s insurrection. I want to study the effects of the stoppage of time in that area.”
“Yes, our lord!” The four revenants all spoke in unison.
“Now, we must not waste any more time I see others have taken noticed of this situation as well.”
Quan Chi’s view changed from David and his actions effecting the outcome of Mileena’s and Outworld’s future to one that showed the Earth Realm warriors gathering up their teams and resources.
“One more thing Sindel and Enenra.”
They both turned to look at Quan Chi.
“Be aware of this Archon of Hell. I feel its name might be a misnomer.”
“Yes our lord.” They both bowed before Quan Chi.
A portal opened up as Sindel and Enenra walked through.
“We must be prepared for anything my followers because I believe that there is more to this interdimensional traveler then meets the eye.”
“We will be on guard our lord.” Noob Saibot spoke.
Afterward, another portal opened as Quan Chi and the rest of the revenants went in.

Earth Realm
There was a huge burst of activity as the Earth Realm base, that was situated just outside New York City, was brought to life by the movement of troops, equipment, weapons, and warriors. Men and women were sitting at computer screens gathering up intelligence on the Black Dragon Organization while a special ops team, hours before, went into the portal to investigate just what events had been transpiring on the Outworld lands. Sonya Cage was at the helm of the operation while Raiden stood next to her in the main operation tent.
“Any word from the team?”
“No mam. We lost all contact with spec ops team Ghost at 2100 hours. We have tried to reestablish contact with them, however, all attempts have failed.”
“There is something wrong over in Outworld and I am going to find out what.”
“Patience’s Sonya, a good leader always knows that patience’s is the key.”
Sonya glared at Raiden.
“Lieutenant, play back the video the spec ops team sent right before we lost contact with them.”
“Yes mam, right way mam.”
The Earth realm spec ops was one of the best, because they were able to slip into the town were Mileena’s insurrection had taken place. As the video played back both Sonya and Raiden were very fixated on the details. The video started out with footage of Jade battling Ermac.
“Raiden, are seeing what I am seeing?”
“Jade, it can’t be, but how? Why could I not sense her all this time?”
“What is going on over there and how is Jade still alive? Revenant Sindel murdered her in cold blood.” Sonya was very perplexed by the video footage.
Then the video switched to footage of the climatic event right when Earth Realm lost contact with Ghost Team. Sonya and Raiden watched the video as Mileena’s rebel forces took on Kotal’s allies, David and Reptile, Rain and Erron Black, Tanya and D'vorah, Jade and Ermac, and finally, Mileena and Kotal Kahn.
“Look at David, Sonya. He has exceptional skill while in Kombat. It almost seems as if he has done this all before.”
Sonya looked on and nodded in agreement. “Yes, he does. Look at his form and technique. He blocks and dodges everything Reptile throws at him and he throws some punishment Reptile’s way as well. Hmm, we are certainly not dealing with no amateur. Now, look at Mileena kick the shit out of Kotal Kahn.”
They watched as Mileena defeats Kotal with ease.
“Indeed, she has grown into a formable Mortal Kombat warrior. Her skill looks to be unmatched. Even Kotal Kahn could not best her.”
They both watched as Mileena was about to finish off Kotal, however, Erron Black fired off two rounds that knocked the Sais right out of Mileena’s hands. Afterward, they witnessed as David protected Mileena then the entire group.
“Intriguing, what motivated him to aid in Mileena’s rebellion and where does he channel his abilities from? Look.” Raiden points at the video screen.
“He used his bracers of armor to absorb the energy from Kotal’s fire and Shinnok’s Amulet. Then, he summons a dome barrier over the rebels and was able to channel the rest of that energy into something?”
“Yes, look at his aurora. It is black and white almost like a, ying yang symbol.”
Raiden noticed it as well. “Interesting, nonetheless.”
“He then slams his right fist into the ground. Look at the energy being released.”
As soon as Raiden and Sonya finished their conversation the energy wave David released hit the spec ops team, afterward the transmission went offline.
“Who or what is he Raiden?” Raiden, crossed his arms and began to think of the question Sonya just asked.
“I am not sure; all I know is he is an interdimensional traveler. Whether or not he is friend or foe remains to be seen.”
Raiden and Sonya stood there as the Lieutenant interrupted their silence.
“General, there is an incoming transmission from Sectary Blake.”
“Put him on vid screen.”
“Yes mam, right away mam.”
“Good Evening Sectary Blake.” Sonya stood at attention during which she saluted the Sectary.
“Good Evening General Cage. Mr. Raiden.”
“Good to see you Sectary Blake.” Raiden replied.
“Now, let’s get straight to business shawl we. I have read your intel report on Outworld, had the chance to view the video from our Spec Ops team, and with the information Mr. Raiden has provided to us, it seems that with the current situation and the Outworld’s willingness to invade our realm it leaves me no choice then to give the green light on your proposed operation. With the events that had transpired over the course of the last two decades we can no longer afford another invasion of what you have referred to as our Earth Realm, General.”
“Thank you, sir.”
“Now, your orders are clear General Cage, first things first, locate spec op team Ghost and bring those men and women home, alive, Second, locate and apprehend the interdimensional traveler code named Slider, (AKA David), and the former Empress of Outworld Mileena Kahnum, third, bring the both of them back to base and detain them for questioning, we need to know what exactly is going on over there, forth, locate and confiscate the Amulet of Shinnok, and finally, open up dialog with Emperor Kortal Khan.”
“Understood sir.”
“Oh and General, one last thing. Off the record, I served with your father during the first invasion of Earth and I must say, he was one harden solider, highly trained, highly skilled, and highly motivated, I would expect nothing less from you General Cage. Good Luck and God Speed.”
“Thank you, sir.” Sonya saluted Sectary Blake as he returned in favor.
“Blake out.” The vid screen changed back to a map of the know lands of Outworld.
“Time to go to work.” Sonya sounded as if she was ready for Kombat.
“Are we ready to depart Sonya?” Raiden almost seemed eager to leave.
“Just about Raiden. First, I am going to split up the group into teams then brief each one on their impending mission.”
“Okay, Liu Kang and I will travel to Neo Edenina and speak directly with Princess Kitana. I want to establish an open dialog with her and make certain we can have her support.” Raiden seem very confident he would have Kitana’s support.
“Good Luck with that Raiden. She has a fan blade stuck so far up her ass she won’t even see the light of day let alone will she be willing to listen to any reasoning you could give to her.” Sonya was very adamant with her statement.
“Nevertheless Sonya, I sense something is going to change within in her soon. We can only hope for the best and put her into consideration.” Sonya looked up and glared at Raiden once more.
“For all of our sakes, I hope you are right Raiden.”

Meanwhile, outside of the operations tent Liu Kang, Jonny, Cassie, Jax, Jacqui, Kenshi, Takeda, Kung Lao, and Kung Jin were outside preparing for their trip to Outworld.
“How you doing Tin Man.” Jax was never to found of Jonny’s expressions because he would always refer to his prosthetic metal arms, however, Cassie and Jacqui over heard the joke and giggled a bit.
“Aren’t you the funny one, little man.” Jax responded in kind.
“Why so serious Jax.”
“God, I hate your movie reverences.”
Jacqui and Cassie were laughing at their dads, while they, themselves, started joking.
“Don’t you dare say it.”
“Oh, come on Cassie.”
“NO!”
“What, all I said was, your dad is hot.”
“Stop It!” said Cassie while Jacqui started laughing.
Takeda was looking over at Jacqui as Kenshi was speaking to him. Kenshi then realized that he did not have his son’s full attention.
“Is there something bothering you son?” Kenshi had taken noticed at how his son kept observing Jacqui Briggs from a distance.
“I’m sorry father.”
“You keep looking over at Jax’s daughter.”
“I know…”
“Look, I cannot begin to tell you how to live your life son, but, right now we will need your full attention for the matter at hand could be of great importance.”
Takeda was having a hard time concentrated as of lately, because every time he was around Jacqui he always felt funny inside.
“Takeda.”
“Yes father.”
Kenshi looked at his son and gave a halfhearted smile, because, he understood he was a young man, after all he was once that age. Next, he put his hand on his son’s shoulder and spoke to him telepathically.
“Don’t dwell on thinking you will have a bad encounter or first impression with her son, why don’t you talk to her.”
Takeda was very surprised by his father’s suggestion.
“I think I will father. I think I will.”
Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Kung Jin were off to the side talking to one another.
“Strange how the onset of impending doom brings about a reunion of some sorts.” Kung Lao seemed a little anxious about the whole situation at hand. “Yes, of course. Old friends plus four.” Liu Kang was observing the young squad as he turned his attention toward Kung Lao and Kung Jin.
“All I have to say is, it is nice to be around family once again.” Kung Jin was happy to see his second cousin Kung Lao.
“Yes Kung Jin, it has been awhile.” Just as they were to begin a conversation Sonya exited the operations tent along with Raiden.
“TEN-HUT!” Jax yelled the call to attention, as himself, Johnny, Jacqui, Cassie stood at attention, while, out of respect Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kung Jin, Tekeda, and Kenshi gave their respects to General Cage.
Sonya looked on at the group as she said, “As you were.”
“Now, it has become clear that Sectary Blake has given the green light on our operation into Outworld, so, I will be splitting all of you up into two groups. Team one will be, Jonny Cage, Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs, Takeda Takahashi, and Kung Jin. Your impeding mission will be to head into Kotal Kahn’s capital city named Valiente, investigate what went on in the city and locate Spec Ops Team Ghost and bring them home alive.”
Jonny Cage then said out loud.
“Looks like I will be babysitting.” All of the older adults had a little chuckle while the young adults became annoyed.
Sonya continued, “Team two will consist of myself, Jaxson Brigges, Kenshi Takahashi, and Kung Lao. Our mission will be to locate the interdimensional traveler code named Slider (AKA David) and the former Empress of Outworld Mileena Kahnum. We are to bring them both into custody and question them both.”
“What about me?” Liu Kang raised his hand after hearing he was not assigned to a team.
“Raiden.” Sonya gave the floor to him.

“Liu Kang and I will both travel to Neo Edenia and open up dialog with Princess Kitana. I want to make sure we will have her support.” Liu Kang all of a sudden became very nervous after hearing Raiden’s words.
“Will you be okay, brother?” Kung Lao asked Liu Kang.
“Of course I will. We are only going to talk to her.” Kung Lao knew his brother was lying about not being concerned.
“Alright, you all have your orders. It is time to move out.” Sonya gave the order.
Raiden walked toward Liu Kang, “Are you okay Liu Kang?”
“Yes Raiden, Why?”
“You look very nervous.”
“Kitana and I have not spoken to each other for a long time Raiden, I am just worried she will not want to see me.”
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. Do not give into your fear Liu Kang for I see a bright light over the horizon for you and Kitana.” After Raiden spoke those words Liu Kang felt reassured about seeing Kitana once more.
“Thank you Raiden.”
“You are welcome Liu Kang. Are you ready to go?”
“Hold on just a minute.” Liu Kang walked over to Kung Lao.
“Brother, be careful out there.”
“You too, Brother.” They then gave a forearm handshake and parted ways as Liu Kang stood next to Raiden. “Good Luck Raiden.” Sonya said.
“Thank you Sonya, but, we won’t need luck.” After a flash of lighting and wind Raiden teleported both himself and Liu Kang to Neo Edenia.
“Dam, Raiden sure does know how to make and exit.” Jonny Cage said laughing.
"That has got to be the only funny thing you have said all night, Jonny." Jax looked over at Jonny Cage while he lit up his cigar.

"I am sure glad I brought some joy into your life." Jonny said laughing.
"Hardly." Jax said as he flung his cigar from his fingers.
The teams were ready and the portal was open, however, something began to appear near where Kung Lao and Kung Jin were standing. It was a red mist that began to form into the shape of a woman. It was the Egyptian goddess Hathor.
"Kung Lao."
"Hathor, what are you doing here, where is Xochiquetzal? I thought you could not leave the sanctuary."
"No, we may come and go as we please."
"Oh, okay." Kung Lao was hoping to see Xochiquetzal as well, however.
"Kung Lao, I bring a gift to you from Xochiquetzal. She told me to tell you that it would be more romantic if I gave you the gift and also you would understand what it meant."
Hathor walked toward Kung Lao and put a necklace around his neck, but, at the end of the while gold chain was a red rabbit made out of rose quartz.  Kung Lao, with his right hand held the rabbit in his palm and looked at the rabbit intensely.
"Thank you Hathor." Kung Lao smiled as his face turned red once again. Kung Jin looked at his cousin while the rest of the group looked on.
"Oh, before I forget." Kung Lao took his hat off and turned it upside down, he then preformed a magician's gesture with his hand as he reached inside to pull out a lovely red rose.
Jax leaned over to Jonny and whispered, "How does he do that?"
Jonny Cage looks at Jax, "You are asking me?"
"Please, give this to Xochiquetzal. Tell her thank you and I understand." Kung Lao handed Hathor the rose gift.
"As you wish Kung Lao." Hathor took the gift from Kung Lao as she turned to the group and said,
"You all have a difficult task at hand. Go with an open mind and heart only then will you be able to release your inner power." Hathor then returned into a red mist and disappeared.
"Okay, what was that all about?" Cassie asked Jacqui.
"I don't know," as Jacqui was just as confused.
"Dad, could you sense her?" Takeda asked.
"Yes son, I could. She is a true being of life and light."
"Indeed, she is."
"What was that all about Kung Lao?" Kung Jin found Hathor to be rather astonishing.
Kung Lao looked at Kung Jin, "My young cousin, it is a long story and I will explain from the beginning."
"I cannot wait to hear it cousin."
Sonya looked over the two groups "All right. if there will be no further interruptions." Sonya said.
“Time to go.” Cassie said as the portal opened up. One by one both teams walked a long side each other as they all disappeared into the abyss.

The Dead Cry Out
We continued on our journey as Mileena, Rain, Tanya, and I followed Jade out of Kotal Kahn’s capital city of Valiente. Almost retracing the same steps, I had taken the night before we walked pasted the spot in the market place where I participated in my first Mortal Kombat match against Mileena’s sister, Kitana. I looked over at the area where I stood next to Kitana as I, the gentleman in me, tried to offer my hand to help her up. I was a little confused she refused, however, it was understandable. Next, as we continued walking we circumvented a number of citizens and combatants that were caught in the energy stream I had released. The citizens were all frozen in time and the once orderly Outworld Market Place was turned into a disordered mess, while the battle that had taken place caused a panic amongst the inhabitants and shoppers, as a number of merchant stands were crushed with their contents strewn about.
We also pasted by a number of unforeseen casualties who had fallen victim to Mileena’s insurrection and Kotal Kahn’s defensive. Sadly, a few of the casualties were children. Mileena walked over to two of the victims, as she kneeled before them and noticed a little girl no more than six years’ old and a boy no more than seven. By the looks of it, the little boy was shielding the girl from a barrage of arrows that had been released from the other side of the market place. Regrettably, three of the arrows went right thru his upper body and into the back of the girl he was trying to protect. I could only assume; he was a big brother shielding his little sister.
“So young, yet, their deaths, so undignified, why, why is it I have this feeling of caring for these innocent young children? Years ago this would not have affected me. I would have walked by their bodies and not given it a second thought.” Mileena said with a mixed voice of anger and sadness.
“Because, the innocent are always the first to suffer and I know even you can feel it. Times change Mileena and with time, people change. God only knows what I have seen and how much it has changed who I am.” David’s voice was of monotone.
“Are their deaths in vain?” Mileena asked.
Jade walked over and put her hand on Mileena’s shoulder, as Mileena looked up at Jade.
“Their deaths would have not been in vain Mileena. When your time comes, you will correct the wrongs of monsters pasted. Namely, Kotal Kahn, Shang Tsung, Devorha, and Shao Kahn.”
“Father… Have I become so weak now? Like sister before me?” Mileena whispered to herself.
Mileena listing to her sister, Jade, began to have a feeling of sadness. The same sadness she felt so many years ago when she was in imprisoned by Kotal Kahn. She had seen something like this play out before.
“Not, again…” Mileena said as I took a mental note of the statement. A thought then crossed my mind, “I am going to ask her about what she meant by her statement, not again…”
Just then, Tanya walked over with a blanket and covered the children with it, while Rain picked up a few flowers from a nearby florist merchant stand he walked over to the children Tanya had just covered. He then proceeded to lay the flowers on the blanket.
“Thank you, my dearest friend and royal advisor…”
“You are most welcome, our empress…” Both Rain and Tanya said in unison.
Mileena took one last look at the innocent and then stood up and looked directly at me, her yellow eyes seemed to be set a blaze.
“You said the innocent are always the first to suffer.” Mileena said angrily.
“Mileena, I do not know how else to say it, but it is the truth. During my travels I have seen it first hand, many times over. Men, Women, and children being slaughtered for no good reason, but the fact they were in someone’s way. Entire cities destroyed and the people who had inhabited those cities, vaporized, by weapons that are charged with all the power of the atom. My own family, my mother, my father, bothers, and sisters, my friends, my Earth realm. Everyone and everything I once knew and loved. Gone… And these was not a dam thing I could do. Would any of you like to know what my youngest brother’s last words were to me before we parted ways?”
I could tell by then I had the group’s attention.
“Save as many as you can…”
Tanya looked at me, “What happened to your Earth Realm, David?”
“There are things far worse out in the universe then your enemies in your own realm and on your own planet.
“I doubt there is anyone more powerful than Raiden or Shinnok.”
“Hold on a minute Tanya. What are you talking about?” Mileena asked.
“Them, The Reborn…”
“Who?” Tanya asked.
“The Reborn. A race of warlike interdimensional humanoid beings that travel between dimensions. They pray on the weak, replenish their ranks with the willing, they steal whatever resources and technology they come across, and conquer with brute force. Their only goal, complete control over every universal dimension they enter and discover. Let us all hope they never find this dimension and realm.”
Jade knew exactly what I was talking about, because like she mentioned before, she looked into my past and seen it for herself, as for the others, it seemed a little too far-fetched to believe, at the moment.
What about your power David?” Rain asked.
“The Archon of Hell? A little too late. Unfortunately, I did not acquire it until later during my travels. As strange as this sounds, after I had acquired it, I could feel that it was feeding off of my negative emotions, namely, my sadness, depression, anger, revenge, and hate. It took me awhile, but, I was able to finally get it under control. There is no telling what monster I would have become if it was allowed full control over my mind.”
Just then, Jade interrupted “We have to make with haste before time unfreezes.”
“Yes, let’s continue, shall we.” Tanya said.
Mileena nodded her head and walked toward the city gate, as Tanya, Rain, and Jade followed suit.
David, on the other hand, stood by where the children laid. He looked down at them for a few seconds. Mileena stopped, as the others walked pasted her. She turned to observe David, as he; out of respect for the children and thinking back to a time when he used to have faith, performed the sign of the cross.
“May their innocent souls rest in peace.”
Mileena watched as David finished. She then took a mental note. “What, was that he did?” David began to walk so he could catch up with the group, as Mileena turned toward the gate they both proceeded to walk out of the city.
The gate I had entered thru the night before was only half opened as we walked outside the city. We walked a few miles as I looked over towards the grassy area where a familiar tree stood. The one where I was knocked out for a bit. “Strange”, I thought, as I noticed that Jade, Rain, and Tanya were all walking together which left Mileena and I behind the group. I began to laugh a bit.
Mileena looking at me strangely, spoke in a curious tone, “What’s so funny?”
“That is the exact spot where I came flying out of the wormhole.” I pointed over at the tree.
“Strange when it had opened up and spit me out I fell about fifteen feet and onto the ground below, afterward, my head came to rest on a very soft rock.”
Mileena, knowing I was being sarcastic began to laugh a bit.
“On a soft rock huh. I know how that feels.”
“You know what else was somewhat strange?”
“What?”
“Our dream.”
Mileena lifted her head as her eyes widen.
“Really, why?”
“At first, after I woke up, I began to question whether or not you even existed and why I dreamt of someone I have never met. I could remember thinking to myself how sexy and stunning you looked and how professional you presented yourself. The way you twirled your sais and how you said you are Mileena, Empress of Outworld.”
“Hmm, A Beautiful… Edenian… Empress…” I said to Mileena.
Mileena was surprised at how I described her, but the Edenian part bothered her a bit, at first.
“You consider me, Mileena Kahnum, a beautiful Edenian Empress?”
“Of course, isn’t that your blood, Edenian?”
“Who told you that?”
“Your sister, Jade.”
“I see…Well then, yes, I am, that is part of my blood. I am also part Tarkatan.”
“You mean like Baraka?”
“By the goddess, do not mention that weirdo’s name. He always had a bad thing for me. You know I had to bust his face once. He tried to, oh it makes me cringe and sick to my stomach when I think about it or how he said it. He said he wanted us to, mate.”
“Just like that huh, mate?” I chucked a bit.
“What’s so funny?”
“Jade told me you beat the shit out of him.”
“I had to defend myself. After his gesture and I refused he became aggressive and pinned me against the wall. He then slammed his right arm blade next to my head as his left hand was clenched into a fist right under my chin.”
“Then what happened?”
“Well, like you mention before, I beat the shit out of him. I broke two of his teeth.”
“You did what you had to do to protect yourself.”
“Indeed.”
Mileena and I were silent for a few steps.
“Hey Mileena.”
“What?”
“Would you mind if I told you how pretty you look this evening.”
Mileena stopped in her tracks for a second and stared at me. Her voice was in a state of confusion.
“What, how? I just do not understand you. Earlier today you told me, ah, how did you put it, I’m as beautiful as the birth of an interstellar star, now you comment on how pretty I look. Are you attracted to me and why?”
I stopped and turned to look at Mileena. I then smiled at her, “Of course I am. From the second I had seen you during our dream to when we met earlier today.”
Mileena squinted at me as she said aggressively, “You don’t have to lie, David!”
“I wouldn’t lie to you Mileena.”
“Errrhaaa!” Mileena grunted as she walked pasted me.
“Out of my way!” She continued as we knocked shoulders. She then turned her head to the right as she used her peripheral vision to view me. Now, I would be a liar if I said I was not looking at her butt as she walked away from me, however, watching her walk away was almost a hypnotic experience.
Just then, Mileena continued to walk a head of me, as I found myself walking alone.
“Well, there you go again. Now you have gone and done it. You are not supposed to become attached to anyone you come into contact with. Seems like you are forcing your hand… Nonetheless, I can’t help it. For some strange reason, I can’t help but think that this feels different. Is it a bond that has somehow and someway transcended the dimensions or is just me? What is it about her or me? It’s like… living in a dream, or… I don’t know, maybe I’m just going crazy!
Not much longer after that my group and I were a few miles from the city when we entered a forest that seemed quite normal enough at first, however, the deeper we walked into it the more foreboding it became. It was sinister, dark, and cold while time was still motionless, nevertheless, this place gave me the feeling that we were constantly being followed, scrutinized, and studied. The feeling went away when Jade, began to grow very weak.
“Jade!” Tanya cried out.
Jade fell and almost hit the ground, however Rain caught her in time.
“Jade. Jade.” Rain began to tap her face with the back of his hand.
Mileena and I had seen what had happened and rushed over to see what was wrong.
“Jade, my sister, what’s wrong”
“Jade, are you okay.”
Jade opened her eyes slowly. “David, your amulet… I need to go inside, so I can heal…
I held my amulet up with my right hand. It began to glow a jade color.
“I understand.”
Jade began to turn into a jade colored mist as her soul enter into my amulet.
“NO! What are you doing, Jade!”
“It’s okay Mileena. The amulet will help and heal her. She will come out when she is ready.”
“Jade… My sister…”
Meanwhile, the amulet began to glow as an arrow began to appear.
“It is pointing deeper into the forest. This direction.” Tanya pointed deeper into the forest.
“It’s pointing North and that forest does not accept trespassers.” Rain commanded.
“Do we have a choice?” Mileena said.
“I do not think so.”
“Just where is Jade leading us?” Tanya asked.
“The night before I met all of you she spoke of someone.”
“Who?” Rain asked.
“She spoke of a very cold, but wise warrior.”
“Lin Kuei...” Mileena said slowly.
“Kuai Liang, the grandmaster of the Lin Kuei.” Tanya said.
“Also known as, Sub Zero. One of the greatest elemental Mortal Kombat warriors. If he is to be persuaded, he would make for a powerful ally” Rain said.
“Well, I guess it is time I met, Sub Zero.”
We began to follow the arrow on my amulet as it took us deeper into the Dead Woods.

Neo- Edenia
Kitana’s awakening…
Kitana found herself walking the streets of a magnificent, shining, city. The roads were paved with granite, the walls, that made up the buildings of the city, were built with the finest Edenian stone, while the afternoon sun lit up a partly cloudy Neo-Edenia sky. Men, women, and children were freely walking the streets of the market place as they all stopped to look, bow, greet, and pay their respects to Queen Kitana. She stopped in her tracks as a wonderful little Edenian girl ran up to her, handed her a blue rose and hugged the queen.
“Tell me, what is your name child.”
The little girl smiled, “My name is Katleya, but my brother calls me, kitty Kat.”
“What a wonderful nick name.”
“Do you have any brothers or sisters?” The little girl asked.
“As a matter of fact, I have two sisters…” Kitana’s heart sank a bit.
“What are their names?”
“Why Jade and Mileena...”
Kitana was surprised she had mentioned Mileena’s name to begin with.
“Where are they?”
“Why, I believe they are at home inside our palace, perhaps driving each other crazy.” Kitana chuckled a bit.
“Katleya, come here, the queen is a very busy woman.”
“Bye.” Katleya said as she ran back to her parents.
Kitana’s face and heart filled with joy as she watched the little girl run back to her mother. This was Neo-Edenia, a realm freed from Outworld, and Kitana was its beautiful queen.
This was but a glimpse into what could be if she would have defeated Shao Khan, Sindel and Jade had not perished, Tanya had not disappeared, and Mileena had not been executed, however, as Kitana stood in the street the environment changed from a bright wonderful day to a dark, cold, and ravaged world. Buildings were burning, dead bodies and blood littered the streets. Kitana looked to her left and seen the body of the little girl who just handed her the blue rose. Blood was dripping from the girl’s eyes as Kitana, shocked beyond all reason, screamed in torment. Afterward, Kitana turned around after she heard something behind her.
It was a group of people running from something, as the group ran toward her, Kitana tried to stop them, however, as they pasted her one of the group pasted right through her like she was not even there.
“Get them! If they do not join us, they will die!”
Once more Kitana turned around to see what was happening. She could not believe her eyes, because, as she looked she was seeing herself, however, she was a dark revenant empress. Her emperor was a revenant Liu Kang. While a revenant Kung Lao, Sindel, Kabal, Jax, Sub Zero, Jonny, Sonya, and Striker all stood behind Quan Chi. Quan Chi was wearing the bracers of Archon while in possession of David’s cracked amulet and one of Mileena’s Sais.
“Get them, if they do not join my army of the undead their souls will burn in hell for an eternity.”
“Yes our lord.” All the revenants spoke.”
“Raiden, you stupid, insignificant, incompetent fool. Just like you and the elder gods to remain silent and attempt to do nothing to stop me. You all have abandon all dimensions and realms to their deaths... They will all tremble before me, as I bring the purity of oblivion to all worlds, while I, a new god, will return them all, to life!”
Afterwards, Kitana was then transported to a dark prison, as she walked the halls she came across a number of people who were imprisoned. Kitana looked into a cell and seen none other than her sister Mileena and David. They were holding each other in their final moments together.
“Do they, love each other? I always thought Mileena was incapable of love?”
Kitana looked to her left as she heard people approach. It was revenant Kitana, Quan Chi, Jax, Sindel, and Liu Kang.
The revenant empress spoke, “Bring that abomination who called me her sister and her weak, pathetic, excuse for a boyfriend!”
“David, don’t let them take me!” Mileena was in fear as Liu Kang unlocked the cell and approached. David tried to defend Mileena, however, he was weak after Quan Chi separated Archon from his mind and body. Liu Kang beat the hell out of David as Jax grabbed Mileena and pulled her out of the cell as she was kicking and screaming.
“No!!!” David yelled as he got up and tried to help Mileena, however, Liu Kang grabbed David and subdued him. David reached out as his and Mileena’s hands touched for a final time…
“Mileena! Mileena!” David cried out…
“David!” Mileena’s month was hushed by Jax’s hand.
“Shut up, bitch!”
Both David and Mileena were taken downstairs to Quan Chi's Fortress as Kitana followed. They were then both forced to kneel in front of Quan Chi as Quan Chi took the Archon blades and held them in both of his hands.
“What do you want with us!” David shouted.
“To serve me in my mission of conquest. To aid me in becoming the Ultimate God! Unlike my former master Shinnok, I will be able to open portals to not just different realms, but, to other dimensions. I will recreate reality anew and shape I as see fit.”
“What of the elder Gods? Mileena asked.
“They will be the first to go.”
“The Reborn will stop you.”
“Oh please, those plague rats do not scare me, in fact, I have a plan that will destroy them once and for all.”
“What is your plan…” David uttered but already knew the answer…
“Why, you two, of course.
Mileena looked up at Chan Chi, “You Asshole…”
“Your over confidence will be your downfall…” David looked up at Chan Chi…
David then turn to look at Mileena, “I will see you soon, sweetheart…”
“I know, sweetheart… Thank you…”
“For what?”
“Everything…”
“Enough of this.”
Quan Chi then took the blades and quickly shoved each one into the hearts of David and Mileena. Both squirmed and coughed up huge amounts of blood as Quan Chi let go of the blades as both the bodies of David and Mileena fell to the cold tile of the fortress. Mine while, in the center of the room sits the blood pit where the silhouettes of a revenant David and Mileena begin to take shape and rise out of the pit.
It became apparent that by now Kitana was dreaming of the nightmare of what might become. Quan Chi began to laugh,
“I am… Become… Death Incarnate!!!”
As she begun to see everything being consumed into a black void, it would have seemed the only way to wake up was to scream in torment.

No, thank you for sharing these stories with us I really enjoyed that there was so much dialoque to develop the kharacters even further. The best thing to me however was the last part "Neo-Edenia". It's totally cool how you combined the revenant story of MKX with the alternate reality concept of your story. Have you been inspired by LuizMictian "Tribute to Kitana" series for the part with Kitanas flashback?

I am glad to hear you are enjoying my story. Thank you so much as it means a lot to me, because you actually appreciate and like the whole concept of my writings.   Unfortunately I was not inspired by LuizMictian, because I had not read his MKX comic until a few weeks ago. I already had typed this part of chapter five long before I had a chance to read his comic and if memory serves me right I did nothing with this part for half a year. I was in the mist of my original chapter five, which was almost done by the way, however I had to make that chapter six and start chapter five anew. Chapter six, nonetheless, is where things really begin to take shape between David and Mileena.  I really cannot wait for you to read chapter six, because, well it is a very special part...  Which I think you will appreciate... Thank you again...
