This reminds me of that one episode of Fullmetal Alchemist. Only Firebrand is Colonel Roy Mustang, and Lightning Bliss is Edward Elric. Which, hilariously enough, fits better than I thought. Think about it, both Firebrand and Mustang are hammy military fire users, Lightning Bliss and Ed are very powerful and do NOT like being called short.

I suspect that some inspiration was drawn from that episode of Fullmetal Alchemist.Β Β
But only SOME inspiration, as the Magic Lesson is also very different in tone and function for both characters for much of it too, which is the best way to use inspiration.

I have NO doubt that there was inspiration drawn from that episode, fairly certain Josh even directly quotes the good Colonel a good few times.

Yeah, I rewatched that episode, and there are some lines (especially the copy of Maes Hughes starting the fight and running away) that are almost exact.
What makes this so fun is that it starts the same, but goes in a different direction than the original because Firebrand and Lightning Bliss' goals are different, so the fight plays out in a different manner entirely.

Such Detail. its Amazing.Β Β How do you draw that kind of detail for the background Issac ?Β as I will be attempting something similar but with an audience as far as the eye can see. that has that same curve in the back.Β

I'll be honest, I didn't completely come up with the background, but I used an image I found on Google.
But I used SAI to make a lineless version of the background. Then in photoshop I got the end result. The stadium is a combination of 1 original stadium picture, then 2 or 3 layers of the lineless version I made. They've been blurred, had their layer mode fixed up, and opacity changed to get the final result.
If you want to try and make something similar to this, I would recommend blurring the background like in this picture, because I think if I hadn't, the end result would look sloppy.
