ARTIST'S NOTE: It's taken me this long to work on a tribute to Chris ever since his passing. He meant a lot to me. Out of all the voices in the rock genre, past and present, I was always drawn to his the most. I mourned for him for a long time. They say that he is "the voice of a generation, an artist for all time," and it's true. People would say that he was so gentle, and his music was a way to let out whatever was troubling him, so every word he wrote had meaning. That's what put him at the top of my list of favorite rock vocalists. I remember first seeing and hearing Chris when the video for "Cochise" by Audioslave played on MTV back when they still played music videos. As an eight-year-old kid at the time, I'd never been so amazed by the power of someone's voice and charisma. Only three singers have had that impression on me in my life and he was the first.

So, in tribute to him, I'm honored to place this painting as my first deviation.
