His nose is big because it has really wide 'wings' that form the nostrils and the whole thing protrudes. So it sticks out that way. But it's not squashed up on the face because the ball (the center of the nose made of cartilage) is small and the bridge of the nose is narrow.
But yeah, medic is hard to draw. This is a good first try though!
