Description It took FOREVER to take just the right picture of this. The perils of being a perfectionist. I'm still not totally satified with the title. So, anyway, this piece was inspired by a daydream I had about two of my characters being in a field of blue roses. It took about 3-6 hours to make (Total). The base is scrap clay, covered with a sheet of black and the flowers were scuplted with pointy bottoms and then baked so they wouldn't smoosh when stuck into the raw base. The figure is made the same way, baked, then stuck in. It was fun to make, even though estimating how many more flowers I needed, then waiting for them to bake tested my paitence. If you're looking for any symbolism, the all-white person represents someone at peace. The rose bed is a happy place, where you can curl up and be safe and secure and feel as though all the the nasty, evil things have been scared away.
Forgive my gushing. I hope I didn't sound like a braggart.
Materials used: Sculpy, scrap clay, imagination.

Thank you! Yes, they took about five minutes to bake and ten minutes to bake, and then when there wern't enough, the whole process started over. Quite a few times. But it was fun. Long projects have thier perks.
