Description
From ([link] )As the two became trusting friends, Toji eventually began to talk to Rei and even share with her the stories of his nation and people.
Once during a full moon, he took her to his favorite spot to tell her the tales his own father had told to him years ago.
Both of them lying down on flat on an ice raft floating on the water... Rei listened with a quiet smile and open ears as Toji told her ancient myths and legends...
How long ago a sister,Mari and her mischievious brother, Anigi who chased each other to to the stars and formed the darkness of the moon and the brilliance of the sun.
or how Grandfather Nuka and his two brothers had once seen the great sea spirit, Esa, shifting underneath the cold blue waters. ...the migration of the penguins, tiger seals and mammoth whales...
the funny tale of how Gisu the Shaman used her most powerful waterbending abilties to simply amuse her little sister Ikko.
or how the visions of ghosts of the White Caribou Elk make their way towards the heavens on clear nights when the celestial lights appear in the sky...
~~~~
based on ideas from real inuit legends.
Inuit art makes me happy on a sublime level I cannot really understand.
inspired in me after I listened to Disney's Brother Bear's "Transformation" by Phil Collins and the Bulgarian Women's Choir in lyrics sung in native Inupiat.
A piece that actually makes me happy when I look at it.
You do... the most amazing art. I love your style so much and especially the way you've got such a firmly different style for the history and cultural elements to each of the nations when you do Avatar based fanart. This is VERY beautiful. ^^ <3
This is simply lovely. I love the comtrast between the way the tale te boy is telling is drawn and the way the children at the bottom are drawn. I seriously thought that this was a screencao from an animated movie for a moment. And you used Bro Bear as inspiration! I love that movie with a passion. The art and the story were so serene and wonderful. And also I have a bit of an actor crush on Joaquin Pheoinx at the moment
And I though he did a wonderful job doing the voice of Kenai. Heck, he's a great actor in general! anyway, really great pic, that must be faved
