He's an amazing creature, and it's and he's very hard to draw him and make him look good like this, with those extra legs.
You know, I've wondered for some time weather he was carved with the 8 legs in order to show that he was able to run really, reall fast. like some kind of early comic art ^_^
...but that sounds very unlikely doesn't it? They were very litteral back then.

It does sound unlikely. But it's a fun theory. Maybe they had a misunderstood comic art genious back then, and everyone just took his works literary ^
