Description
Goeth: You know, I look at you. I watch you. You're not a drunk. That's, that's real control. Control is power. That's power.Schindler: Is that why they fear us?
Goeth: We have the fucking power to kill, that's why they fear us.
Schindler: They fear us because we have the power to kill arbitrarily. A man commits a crime, he should know better. We have him killed and we feel pretty good about it. Or we kill him ourselves and we feel even better. That's not power, though, that's justice. That's different than power. Power is when we have every justification to kill – and we don't.
Goeth: You think that's power.
Schindler: That's what the emperors had. A man stole something, he's brought in before the emperor, he throws himself down on the ground, he begs for mercy, he knows he's going to die. And the emperor pardons him. This worthless man, he lets him go.
Goeth: I think you are drunk.
Schindler: That's power, Amon. That is power. [gestures toward Goeth as a merciful emperor] Amon the Good.
Goeth: [he smiles and laughs] I pardon you.
From Schindler's List
I wanted to draw something more than just a face, and only recently I saw "Schindler's List" for the first time and with the amazing story it portrays and the message it conveys, I decided to do something on the film. The scene with this dialogue was probably the one I liked the most, also a very meaningful one, so here it is.
The guy in the front is Ralph Fiennes playing Amon Goeth and Mr.Schindler back there is played by Liam Neeson (who isn't looking very good).
Hope you like it, and as always, critiques are welcome
NOTE TO SELF: Never, ever again draw eyes as small or smaller than Liam Neeson's on here.

Good work

Obrigada Este foi um dos poucos filmes que vi e me "obrigou" a desenhar qualquer coisa. E é sempre um prazer desenhar o Ralph Fiennes. Ainda bem que está reconhecível

You chose a great scene from a great movie! That's one of my favorite scenes, too.
Your drawing of Liam Neeson isn't perfect, but he's recognizable. That's important. Fiennes looks really good there, I especially like how you did his eyes. It's that cold look. Perfect.
You really did a great job here!

His eyes were sort of a challenge, you couldn't see them properly on the ref pic. Glad to have managed that cold look Thanks so much for the comment

I like it very much...
if you want to se a documentary about the real Oscar Schindler there is one at youtube, really intresting...
this is part 1. [link]
I do love Schindler list to and the fact that Speilberg did a movie about the haulocaust but didn´t do it with a jewish hero, but a party loving, black market chalatan german guy (even a Nazi party member) it tells us that the world ins´t just black and white...
I find that far much intersting!

Thanks for the comment and the link Just finished watching the documentary, the man's kindness and courage really are praiseworthy.
And yeah, the fact that he wasn't just a pretty jewish hero makes his story much more interesting. And it proves we do have a choice, no matter what. Spielberg did a wonderful job with this film, it went directly into my favourite films of all time top

welcome, glad to be able to share it with you...
yeah it tells us so much more of humans and what we are capable of, both bad deeds and good ones...
he (Schindler) was a charlatan and liked to drink and party, but still he didn´t sell his soul to get that, (even if he managed to have parties while saving people)...
I think Jesus talks about this in the bible (no I am not religious) in the part when he speaks about the good samaritan...
The nice guy/girl can be of any nationalty... and everyone can make a difference... we all have to find our way...
