Aaah! I'm such a slowpoke. I finally caught up!
I just want to say that when I started off this comic I was amazed in the change of art. This is more realistic to the original art, plus the OCs are drawn so well!
I think the idea of exchanging a ninja with the Sand Village was a good idea to get Kumiko into the story. My guess is that they exchanged Sakura. I also thought Kumiko's comeback to Sasuke was hilarious! "Well whoever they exchanged couldn't have been the worst, because you're still here."
I also think that Sasuke is giving her a hard time because he likes her. 
I got the hint that he likes her from clues like him greeting her after insulting her the day before. (Probably felt bad for saying something like that insult.) The second clue was obvious - he was jealous of Naruto and Kumiko.
Loving this and looking forward to the rest!!!! The toner looks great by the way.
Regarding this strip: That was a hard move, but the fact that he had to go as far as using his Sharingan shows that he's not underestimating her anymore, or at least he's taking her more seriously. Bout time!
