It's my oc - Pikachu who doesn't have a nickname so far. He loves punching his oponents, hence the gloves. I gave him a little bit of Gizamimi Pichu features, I hope you don't mind~Well, I had idea for Pikachu for a long time, but he usually looked like a normal Pikachu with shaggy hair on his head~
I didn't have idea for a background so don't stab me... m(_ _m)

those three words do not even belong in the same sentence together. how can you take character that has been so widely exploited and is so well known, add ear tuffs and boxing gloves and call it original?!

I think you might be confused as to what an original character is. an OC is based upon the the thoughts and ideas fermented and enriched within the confines of our own minds. I believe this is called a fan character actually, a character based on a preexisting series.

But if you look at it from a different angle, it's still kinda someone's creation made out of an existing species. And I don't know if 'fan character' is the suitable word... I can tell what's a fanfiction or a fanart but if someone's tells me about 'fan character' it just doesn't ring any bell to me.

a fan character would be considered fan art I guess, but it's not an ORIGINAL character. it is a character that is a slight but direct modification of a character made by someone else. now I'm guessing from the sheer amount of pokemon fanart in your gallery that you are a fan of Pokemon right? that would mean you took a pokemon character, changed some parts to make it different and kaboom, you have a fan character.
and no, it's not an existing species, it's a fictional creation that came from someones ideas.
