Och yes, they are!
But it is a bit strange... Because I love cold colors. And cold shades of warm colors. And I feel very comfortable when I spend time in rooms that are painted in such colors. It is the same with clothes I wear. Also when I see a person who is wearing clothes in such colors, I am able to talk more openly with this person.
But...
I am secretly in love with warm colors. It is a strange love. Because I would never wear an orange T-shirt or yellow dress but I love such colors on other people! They look so pretty in warm colors <3
I'm always wearing black, blue, purple or grey (those are my fav colors). But once someone told me that I look good in pink (because I was wearing old pink T-shirt when I was home), and it made me so happy!

I haven't made many thoughts like you, but I know people told me (dark) red looks good on me, I should wear some more "friendly" colours to underline my personality... and it makes you more attractive to other people.
I'm not really sure if I'm thinking the same, but it might be true.
I guess I would rather speak to a girl with black or earth-colored clothes than to one with a pink shirt, hahahaha.
Well.. I like almost all colors, but if you speak about clothes... it must be black/white (even if this aren't colors) and grey, grey is really beautiful and timeless to me... beside this I love earth tones like brown, or a nice green touch.
My absolute favourite color is lavender... a bit more dark or discreet, perhaps washed out.
I would also like to wear it sometimes... but find nice clothes (especially for men) with those colours ahaha... and probably most other men would think "such a hippie/ or the ones who aren't really sensitive think just "gaylord", whatever.

Hey, perhaps friendly colors have the force to make you a friendly person.
Oh well.. I think it's not just a question how you feel, but probably the colors you wear influence yourself and you feel a bit better.
But yeah, I wouldn't feel very comfortable for the frist hours.
Of course it can be misleading to chose people you like/wanna talk with just by colors.
It's a fashionable life and I think that's sad. But of course I would think a girl in a gucci dress wouldn't like me, cause I'm wearing something boring. hahaha
Aaaaaaa, that's cool, I also like flower patterns. Yesterday I thought of buying a button-down shirt full of flowers. But I'm not sure if it would be a long and blessed relationship between me and those kind of stuff.

Nah! I like to look classy! Black dresses or simple skirts. I also don't like to show my body to other people like girls do those days. I never had shorts on my butt!
Even when it is hot outside I am wearing dark long dresses, long sleeves, and stockings 
So I think that I am not a bit fasionalbe...

This reminds me of my youth. I often wear long and black stuff even when it was about 35°C, of course I weard my boots, too.
But hell yeah, I just try to don't care very much anymore. When I'm at home I'm running around naked, I would never have done this for a few years.
Of course style is more important than brand.

Joke apart.... I guess the past/ present/ future is well connected. I don't really believe in destiny but in relation.
The past can be your tomorrow... you have constant influence in your surroundings. Through it's everchanging, until there's the "moment".
I believe thoughts/ behaviour/ concstellations can have an influence, even it's probably just a small amount and not really measurably.
Sometimes I think there's a kind of invisible net surrounding humans, objects and animals. There's only reaction or static.
Like 0 and 1 in the technics...
Sometimes I have dreams (and you can often "translate" these symbols) and often it happens to me or I can see relations.
It can also be just a imagination/ fantasy; cause you want to believe.
I also trust my own feelings (when I feel uncomfortable and I don't trust it something bad will happen to me... I lose my wallet when I'm going out or whatever;;;; sometimes something bad just happen to people I like and I will hear about this one or two day later. When I feel good it will be a beautiful day/ evening with awesome conversations/ luck/ whatever).
But who really knows what's illusion of the ego/ psyche...
I must sound like a total freak, esoteric and insane person, hahahahah.
It's hard to explain what I mean with those silly examples.
Probably I should write "if you see theres a half empty glass it's half empty. If you see a half full glass it's half full.
If you know how to fill it, or how it will be filled without putting water in it it by yourself it will be filled.

Why did this question came to your mind?
It's hard to explain how I feel when I take selfportraits. But boredom sounds hard, hahaha.
I'm feeling always different, but deeply myself.
Though I don't really like to present me, looking like a poser, or whatever people might think. But it's equal anyway.
I also try to avoid my face, because I don't like it.
I just like to present a concept or emotions, and I'm happy when (emphatic) people can refeel them while looking at it.
So I wanna express my feelings, because they stress me. And I hope to figure out why it stress me... and how I can translate a feeling into an image... and I hope to feel better after it.
But I'm seldom satisfied with my work... I see many failures and thinks that are not efficient.
Beside this I like portraits, or human expressions caught in a picture. But I have no one who would liked being photographed by me.
And of course I know myself the best... and when I have an idea in my mind I wouldn't like to use a model and explain what I feel over and over again.
I'm not a director... and when I would take a photo of someone he/she should have an idea, tell it and I say "yay!; or no! or what do you think of "this" idea?"

Some of them are also the reasons why I do take selfportraits. But I have other reasons as well.
So you are not happy with some of your selfportraits... And those stressful feelings, do those feelings suffocate you? Do you feel that you are hopeless in understending them? Because I feel like that when I take some pictures of myself... Especially when I am feeling really bad. The need to look at myself is so strong then. I am often looking in the mirror or taking pictures to see what is wrong with me. But well... It never helps. I am only getting more miserable :') But at te same time I am in love with myself even more. Nah. This is to complicated for me!
Getting back to you (I often talk too much about myself... I do not consider it to be a flaw, but I know that people do not really like it).
And did you try to ask people if they want to be your model? I am so shy, but sometimes I ask people to pose for me, and they accept. Of course not all of them, but it is important to try. When person is easygoing and loud it is possible that he/she will agree to pose for you
I would pose for you, but only because, later, I would stare at those photos admiring myself xD ...
I don't know if this is true, but just look at their eyes! Foxes eyes are like cat's eyes. I'm talking about the cornea. It narrows when it is bright, and expands when it is dark - a cat trait. And the construction of mouth is dog-like.
