Morbidly amazing, I guess the carrion birds like eyeballs better than blubber.
Weird crop but it definitely emphasizes the loneliness. I'm glad to see a post from you.
Many years ago, a friend and I were driving my jeep through some Oregon dunes (the riptide was too strong for swimmers so the beach was open for automobiles). Driving along, we came upon a beached seal, dead. We made a little memorial for it from driftwood and seashells then continued on. A few miles along we found another and made another memorial with what we could find. A mile later, another less elaborate memorial. Well, we soon lost count and stopped making grave markers. We stopped stopping. Apparently the riptide was too strong for the seals as well.
So, misery needn't travel far to find good company in this crowded loneliness.

Good, I've recounted the story before but your photo and title made me analyze it's impact in a slightly different way.
Thank you.

When we Die we all ARE alone ... in that condition we all are equal, because each death is singular and unique as each soul ... it ends in oblivion.

or maybe we become everything, resonance, connected - though it ends in oblivion, I agree.

It's true that it's very dark, this naked skull seems to have been sewn to the body...

Yes, many friends and other people asked me "Dude, thats photoshop, no?!"- But I didnt.
Glad to hear from you!
Creepy fact:
I wanted to take the skull for my collection, but its restricted - and it also was intact on the groundside/the neck, so I had no chance anyway. Only by force, No plastic bag neither and a day full to discover areas, so I let it rest there.
