I find that this artwork stood out to me like nothing has before. The detail is beautiful and I love how everything flows together. It makes me feel as if she is actually trying to come off the page and thats what makes the picture POP. I just absolutely love this drawing, I cannot wait to see more of your art. It is gorgeous! Can i presume that the 3D effect is obtained by using colour on the "outside" parts and black/white on the "inside" parts?
My feeling when seeing this is maternal, she looks like she could be holding a tiny newborn...

Yep, in additiong to what you've said i use some soft shadows to give the "3d" impression.
