Description If I want to carry any legacy on dA, it's the legacy of drawing everything that people hate.

SO I HAVE BEEN DEVELOPING A HEADWORLD LATELY. It surrounds Alita, Gwen, and their adventures of sassy mailwomen on a newly discovered planet.
Here's refs of Ali and Gwen if you haven't seen them yet:

They're kind of out-dated, I'll do a proper ref for the both of them later. I'm still working on Gwen's body shape that will allow her to be ridden by Ali, because Gwen's thorax has a dip in order to make Ali and Gwen more comfortable.

Their planet is inhabited by primarily invertebrates/arthropods/ generally things with an exoskeleton. Many of the species can be compared to insects on Earth, except they're usually a LOT bigger.
Mammals CAN be found, although they generally habituate areas further north, where most species cannot live due to the cold climate. The climate of this planet is warmer than Earths: the colder areas usually reach -10 celcius, and the warmer areas cannot support human life at the current time. This is alright though, warmer areas have less life but they usually are the homes of the most dangerous animals on the planet. Most humans are too afraid to explore it.

One of the biggest pests can be compared to Earth's mosquito. They come in a variety of sizes, the smallest being the size of a medium / large dog, and the biggest reaching about 6 feet in height. The females are smaller and stronger, while males are larger and more delicate.

Only the females are considered a nuisance and danger to humans, as females exclusively collect blood from others to feed their young. The blood is taken through the needle-like proboscis, and it is stored in parts of the thorax and one segment of the abdomen. Mosquitos carry a lot of weight on their abdomen, which is why 4 legs are located on the abdomen, which help balance it.

Their proboscis is quite sharp, but it is the most delicate part of the species. If broken, it will cause serious pain to the animal, but they can live without it. The mosquito's young, however, can not. Females are very aggressive, territorial, and care deeply for their young.

Due to many of the species having a tough exoskeleton, the mosquito sometimes cannot pierce an animal to drink their blood. To make up for this, they have developed a peculiar mouth near their eye. They have no teeth, but the mouth's outer ridges are quite sharp and can break exoskeletons. Mosquitos do not eat with their proboscis, they usually eat flesh or fruits using their mouths.

Despite the mosquito's size, they are actually one of the smallest species on the planet, as well as the prey for many other species. Their exoskeletons can be easily broken by other animals, so mosquito populations are usually under control.
Due to their size, they are a major threat to humans. They should be avoided, one mosquito can suck enough blood to kill a human.

PIKRUTD ABUV IS A BEAUTYFUL FEMALE MOSKITO
bask in hur ugli glori

I hope you all enjoy my terrible species UuU

You say nobody likes the mosquito - don't worry, I DO! *huggles the poor unloved mosquito*
Haha, I've always thought mosquitos were cool looking, and your version is no exception! Woohoo, proboscis powerrrrr!
Nice shading, and I don't think the concept is terrible at all, I really like it - people need to draw more invertebrates!

Ah, I'm sure they must be incredibly annoying in that situation - luckily, we don't have many of them where I'm from.

And I agree - bugs are adorable too! <3
And yes, begin the ARTHROPOD REVOLUTION!

Northern Ireland. That's all that needs to be said. (btw, in case you don't know, it's not the same thing as "Ireland", since lots of people don't remember that, so before you mention leprechauns and stuff... you've got the wrong bit of the land mass. )

Yesss, you should definitely make t-shirts - I'd wear one!

UM YES, PLEASE DO.
dA needs more giant bugs, it is essential.

I don't know if my headworld is going to have Honey bee beasts, I have been considering a more mamallian-humanoid species that looks like a bee that are REALLY intelligent but weak so they have to hide from the other species in more Arctic regions.

I'M NOT SURE THO
