Species Name: Fossura Terra
Name it commonly goes by: Desma
Other nicknames: Abominations
Overview: The Fossura Terra, or more commonly known as the Desma (named after their Discoverer, Artemis Desma) are an elusive and mysterious species that have only been recently discovered and studied. They were first discovered in a forest located in the forests of Ontario Canada, and have been appearing all around the world since.
Where they came from remained a mystery, until a breakthrough was made: a company was drilling for gold, but had to stop their operation because they drilled right through a colony of Desmas. It is now assumed that there are multiple colonies of these creatures spread across the earth, living underground.
Habitat: It is assumed the majority of Desmas live underground, but recently, many have been unearthing themselves and have habituated themselves all around the world. They are not picky to their habitat, but they seem to hold a preference for warmer climates, and enjoy thickly wooded forests or areas filled with flora (i,e; jungles).
Temperament: Desma's temperaments can be as different and unique as their colors and markings, but most seem to be mysterious, gently creatures that mean no harm to humans (most people are put off by their creepy appearance, so they are believed to be dangerous). They seem to be very intelligent creatures, possibly even as smart as humans, and they have developed social skills and senses of humor. The species seems to love a good joke, and enjoy playfully toying with humans, making them cheeky and mischievous.
Exiles: It is believed only 15% of the Desma species have habituated on the surface of earth, and 75% remain underground in huge colonies. It is unknown if the Desmas on the surface were kicked out of their previous colonies or chose to leave, but either way, they have been labeled "Exiles" by scientists that study them. Exiled Desmas tend to be more anti-social than Colonized ones, but many seems to form friendships with other Exiles, while some are bad-tempered and prefer to be alone. There has only been one recorded Desma that attacked a scientist trying to gather information, which further proves the theory that Desmas are Exiled from their colonies if they feel they are a threat to their society.
Diet: The Desma's diet consists of mainly fruits and vegetables. They seem to love sweet treats, and scientists claim they love small candies (such as lollipops and bonbons). They tend to avoid meat, but if they are hungry enough, they will eat insects and small animals. None have ever attempted to eat a human or large animal, despite the fact their mouths are large enough to fit a small child.
Average height for both sexes: 4", but they seem to have a large variety in sizes; some are as tall as humans, while others could easily fit in a person's lap.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN OPEN SPECIES. I will put up some adoptable sheets, but it won't be first-come-first-serve, because these are very special with me and I want people who I know will care for them to get one. I may also let close friends of mine be able to make their own, I'm not sure yet though.
