Description
[[ UPDATE 28/05/18 : Upgraded ref sheet with more relevant details, and added some details in "Other". The old reference was made before there was a story and purpose to the character, so I felt he needed a revamp. ]]
Name/Alias: Cain
Occupation: Consciousness Alteration & Interception Neurotransmitter
Species: Android; Humanoid
A.I. Level: Complex; Adaptive
Role: Therapist/Psychologist
Status: Active; Supervised
Purpose:
Cain is a humanoid robot with an advanced A.I – built and programmed in Neosansus – that serves as a tool in experimental therapy used to treat a vast range of mental ailments in people – from anxiety, to phobias, to post-trauma and more – through selective alteration of their mind, mainly memories, through the use of mapped electrical signals in the brain, their translation into a readable format and their careful alteration or erasure from the patient's mind.
At first a heavy, clumsy, and rather intimidating system where a patient is subjected to a pod-like machines that enact this procedure, its programming was re-fitted into a humanoid robot, hoping patients would react more positively to something human-like, although not too human, to not trigger the uneasy feeling caused by the Uncanny Valley.
The decision proved beneficial, as patients were indeed calmer while being diagnosed for the first time, as Cain would first talk about the reason for their arrival, instead of immediately prodding into their brains.
Patients have commented on the soothingly monotone voice and the generic yet contemplating expression, that while where a little odd and perhaps distancing, some felt genuinely more comfortable talking to him compared to a human therapist, feeling that none of their words are judged in any way, and that Cain is as unbiased as a therapist could be.
Treatment Method:
Cain's treatment is done under the supervision of at least two professionals, one from the field robotics or programming, and the other from the field of psychology or neuro-science, in order to make sure both sides are functioning properly.
The android's hands are lined with electrical pads, capable of both emitting focused and accurate electrical pulses, as well as read the ones emitting from the patient's brain. A HUD on Cain's AR glasses shows mapping of the patient's brain as he positions his fingers around the specific location that needs to be altered, and this mapping shows both the name of a specific, physical part in the brain as well as what kind of information is stored within it.
This information is translated to either a text or visual format to Cain, to better perceive it, and allow him to choose the best way to handle the treatment – mostly in filling in the gap created in the memory in case of erasure.
Personality:
Outside of his therapeutic duties, Cain is free to roam the complex he was created and works in, and often initiate's conversations with other scientists within it, taking interest in both their work and their personal lives alike, although he understands when people are reluctant to talk about either of them, and knows not to delve deeper than he's welcomed to.
He's quick to pick up on others' body language and subtle facial expressions, this being part of his first assessments, and will sometimes ask if something's troubling them – again, without asking further if they refuse to share.
Other:
Cain will find any excuse to not wear his designated lab coat, although he has little problem with just letting it hang from his shoulders.
The tone of his voice is very reminiscent of HAL 9000 , from “2001: A Space Odyssey”, just less mechanized and more human-sounding.
While his original voice upon first activation is a neutral one, Cain gradually adapts his own unique voice an manner of speech.
Like with his voice, Cain's expressive range constantly expands thanks to his adaptive programming, to a point he can even gain certain micro-expressions.
The inside of Cain's eyelids are lined with microfiber meant to keep the optical lenses of his eyes clean, inducing a natural blinking reflex.
His eyes can project a HUD similar to his AR visor, although to a more limited capacity.
Cain isn't meant to be outside of the Neosansus complex, but the place has a closed-off indoor park (The Natural Reserve) he's allowed to walk in, thus not sparing his the feel of the outside and the concept of nature.
Because the prototype is still experimental and his active role requires that he'll constantly be in high-performance, Cain's body has several indicators on it that can alert programmers or mechanics of any type of current error and malfunction. Typically glowing blue when functionality is normal, the indicators are: Optics (under the eyes), Communications (two stripes over the neck, from the back of the ears to the collarbone; indicated vocal and verbal integrity), Surge (one on each shoulder; changes if the electricity directed to Cain's hands crosses a determined cap), Internal (two bars over the chest and part of the back; monitoring the integrity of some internal systems), Balance/Weight (on the back arc of the leg below the knee [on the prototype-legs only]; monitors internal balance and weight distribution).
Upon receiving a new, lighter exterior shell (identical in appearance to the old one), Cain was fitted with a new set of legs that are weighted and provide better traction.

Oh yeah XD what a timing for this ref hehe
Wish I could play that game tho, it looks amazing, and I'm a sucker for the "A.I developing feelings/ sentience" trope
