Description Ok soooo
Graphic Design class I have to make a poster for the Shanghai Apothicary I prob spelt that wrong.. anyway I am having trouble with the text and color of the text. The rhythem has to be a flow which as you can see the colors are wavy so the text ill be too. This is an object poster so the text wouldn't be too large and the cocktail will take up 80-90% of the picture well in this case its more of 60%... help?

Try and use a closeup of the cocktail, not the entire glass but a part of it. you can put that in the lower left or right part of your poster. so you have some room at the top for a title.
Then you need to work out the balance of your design. Use text and a title to sort that balance out. The 'rain' effect on the image isn't a good choice imo, I rather keep it simple but good.
As for the colors.. Mess around a little bit but I'd stick to 3-5 different colors maximum. Choose a font with no serifs. (if you don't know what those are look it up).
So yeh, try and make a few designs. combine some and pick out the one that looks good.

hmm i'll try that and i made the rain effect because it was soo pixalated as a regular photograph but i still have it before i added the effect knowing i might not like it... i can't close up the top then all the colors would not be included and i need them to keep my rhythm because that is part of the assignment.as for color i was thining of a dark shades of the comon colors i have now and just have it fade a little in the background maybe so it ownt stick out too much... but i'm not sure

I see.. Does it have to be a picture? or can you add some brush strokes on top of your pic to make it look better.
however, be careful with that

Try some different things and show them. feedback does miracles. ,)

Try a different concept if you get stuck.

What about silhouettes of cocktail glasses and bottles on the front or back and the apothecary logo in the middle?

if you're using black and a few dark grey's you can add text in white. and there's a good looking poster.

Or no silhouettes but lineart and write your text in black, or red, or green.

the apothecary pretty much just opened they dont really have a logo lol
i like the black gray idea i thought about it but thats more text ligerature requirements though and i can't do that... if i get too far with the color i might go with phyliosical art or how ever u spell it but i'll think about it hmmm so intense on just a poster
