Description
First of all, I want to dedicate this drawing to Jorge Poyato, who showed me the world of Arrakis, and many others..."Dune" is a science-fiction novel (and a book series) written by Frank Herbert, some people say that the best science-fiction book. It is based in the far future in the planet Arrakis, also called Dune. There is no precipitations on this planet, and it is almost covered by a great desert, where live giant sandworms. The water is a valued thing, so people who lives there are dressed with special suits that allow to store and not to lose the corporal humidity.
There are a film and TV series about the books, I hope you like my own version, don't fear to comment, please...
En primer lugar, quiero dedicar este dibujo a Jorge Poyato, que me mostró el mundo de Arrakis, y muchos otros...
"Dune" es una novela de ciencia-ficción (y una serie de libros), escrita por Frank Herbert; algunas personas dicen que el mejor libro de ciencia ficción. Se basa en un futuro lejano en el planeta Arrakis, también llamado Dune. No hay precipitaciones en este planeta, y está casi totalmente cubierto por un gran desierto, donde viven gusanos de arena gigantes. El agua es algo valioso, y la gente que vive allí se visten con trajes especiales que permiten almacenar y no perder la humedad corporal.
Hay una película y serie de televisión sobre los libros, espero que te guste mi propia versión, no temas a comentar, por favor ...

The thing I love about this is the green kerchief: the symbol of all who belong to Stilgar and Sietch Tab'r. The Fremen called it "Bakka, " the weeper. It's a lovely little detail from the books that almost never shows up in the artwork.

I've seen many other riders of Shai-hulud, but this is bar the best. I'm a long time lover of the Dune series (I've read them all by Frank and his son.) Great work on the still suit as well. Gotta have a good reclamation system in the deserts of Arrakis. He's got the maoula pistol, maker hooks, crysknife and literjon. Very well done.
Critique: I'm not able to critique this. It is by far, much better then what I've made as of yet. If you were going for consistency with the traditional description of a Fremen then the only thing I'd say is that the crysnife was at the waist. Hell, that's all I can think of.
Two questions. I can't remember, but does the green scarf symbolize the color of a Naib?
Did you have any certain Fremen in mind when you created this character?

I am currently reading Children of Dune now.... absolutely amazing. I think I would be one of those people who think it's the best written science-fiction series of all time.... (Dune is the sci-fi as LOTR is to fantasy ;D)
Your rider looks great.... but your sand dunes look amazing. I love the detail in the ripples in the sand, the dust in the air, and especially the halo around the sun.
Is it just me, or does it also looks as if we are seeing this man through a lens? I like the effect in any case.

Nice work, many excellent touches. I can see the water caches in the suit, the blue eyes, riders on the worm in the background, the suit perfect camouflage in the desert. Just a couple of touches of color - nice!
I would have liked to see more of a toothy-maw on the worm, but it's terrific as is!

Hello Isra2007 This image is truly amazing! I'm doing some work for my youtube channel doing videos using HQ artwork from different sources... Can I use your image to illustrate a video with the song "To Tame The Land" from Iron Maiden, a song based on Dune Universe? you will be fully referenced and cited!
Amazing, I love the Stilsuit the fremen is wearing... looks like a junction of David Lynch's film and Dune serie stillsuits... but somehow something completely different...

I'll keep an eye in your gallery because I love all your drawing and painting style and art. I have yet another video I want to do with another song based on Dune... "Traveller in Time" by Blind Guardian, but It's difficult to find decent artwork close to the masterpiece of Herbert soo I'll be around and maybe one day you made another perfect artwork about Dune that I maybe able to use and match with Blind Guardian's song

They are very simple videos actually, but in the end they are interesting to watch and lyrics keep people interested and aware of the meaning of the image and song!

I've read the first book, saw all the films the one directed be David Lynch and the mini series to. And I have to say your drawing is the closest, to the one I have imagined. All the details are correct, and i like that you payed attention to the knife, the green scarf, and the hood, but i have one question, don't you think the firearm looks a bit outdated? just a bit...

Probably it does, but the universe of Dune has this "old smell", maybe because it's a sci-fi novel without laser-pistols, robots, computers... Anyway I have to say that I don't think that this is a so faithful representation, Fremen wears clothes on their stillsuits, but I wanted people to see the design of the stillsuit... thanks for the comments, I read ALL of them!.
Other thing, the design of the worm. I really like the worms of the film, they're perfect, but they're not the worms of the book. The worms in the novel have "round giant mouths", not that mouths star-shaped...

This is the most perfect depiction of Muad Dib I have ever seen. Complete with the Hawk insignia, the green scarf of mourning (or the House Atreides color), a badass stilsuit and the wrist sheathed crysknife. Just incredible. Do more please.
