Description I watched your heart
go up in flames
didn't I, just?
The churning, burning
raging, caging
inferno of it all.
Your venom spat
and anger spent,
you ended
the useless toiling.
Tired, shy, you lay down
submit to the end of it.
Given up, beaten
and someday even forgotten.
Upon my head
I wear the crown
The one that you'd mistaken.
I watched your heart
go up in flames;
I lit the match myself.

I'm pulled in by the idea of a mistaken crown. What was it mistaken/confused for? And is there a second meaning here - was the crown mis - taken, that is, was power taken illegitimately, usurped?

It could have been mis-taken and then the rightful owner got it back or it could have been mistaken as worthless when it really was everything.
