dancing and shimmying
just to make yourself laugh
at how ridiculous you must look.
A pleasant afternoon to talk:
about how you dislike parsnips,
how you really adore Obama
and how you were raped and it's unfair
and you hate it.
It's a great time to:
drive all night away from the person
you loved and lost
to see how many state lines you can cross
before that rubber band feeling in your chest
snaps and you go back.
It's the moment where you:
clean out your address book,
buy a new pair of shoes,
try a new sex position - get dumped,
and then wake up feeling lucky.

it was a relief to write it.
I'm still feeling clogged up and like I have something much better to write just hiding inside of me but it definitely helped to get that out.
