Description
The challenge for this piece was simple yet so hard : "what would look like a world where anything is possible".As it was made for a contest I spend hours imagining more and more crazy and elaborated scenes showing everything that I love.
But at the end I though that most of this things are great in storyes but would just be horrible to live in.
So I thought to something I love and that was not that crazy : exploring, discovering.
Because even with everything that we have built and imaginated as human I am still amazed by nature .
For me, my "oasis" would be vast and peacefull, a place to discover endlessly. Full of animals.
And yes I added trico, because it wouldn't be as perfect without a friend to share everything
For those wondering it was part of the "challenge of the month : "My OASIS"" made by the youtube channel draw with jazza, (it was with this channel that I learn to paint (at least with his tutorial) I I still use his brushes to this day).

This is beautiful!!! I love the flying bird creature next to the man, as well as the flying figures off in the distance!

the detail and composition of this is gorgeous!! the only thing i think could be fixed is the color palette ;v; the green of the mountain's grass and flora just feels too green. making those greens warmer might help! i usually like to put a color overlay on some of my pieces to have the colors fit in a palette rather than have a whole bunch of colors at once :0 keep up the awesome work!

You are right I may have oversaturated the green especially the one far away that should be way more yellowish (and there no reason to highlight them as much, they are not that important)!

I still can not get enough of this game, to dream of leaving this crazy world and fly through the stars as high as the air beneath your wings will let you in a endless world of wonders has captivated me to know end since it came out, more than anything Ueda might have imagined.
This is so beautiful, one of the best TLG pieces of art i've seen.

I wish there were more of TLG, but I think it is better that this game stay without any follow up.
I don't see a way to continu this story without breaking what made the end so great.
But I anything was realeased I would be the first one to buy it XD

I completely agree, as much as i love this beautiful story, its best to leave as is (but really really hoping this is not the end of Trico's in general)

I completely lost it when the VR demo came out, had to do it, its not the game but it was amazing, which really confused me as Ueda isn't known
for making a volume 2 or something, i know its a demo, but it got my hopes really high for something in the future.

I actually made him smaller because I would never hadspace to show him and the landscape at the same time XD
(I could have make him go more into the background I suppose but it felt weird to have the two caracters seperated)

This is an amazing piece. The transition of colours is so well done. I'm very conscious of colour these days. I think it's because for so long I was afraid of it and now I'm apply it to all my work. Your greens going into browns into gold and blue..just AMAZZZZZZING!!!! i also love the little tough you made of the blurring of the other flying creature in the bottom of the pic in the distance.

I often like to use grandient and blending modes to get this effect. I love how having such effect make the piece look athmospheric.

love the painting its so ambicous and lively, my only critik is that it feels a bit messy and crowded. i almost didnt notice the man next to the bird , with all the details on the man and bird they sorta melt together, maybe if the man had a different colour palette to distinguish him from the bird that would make him more noticable, the landscape could do with less detail i think, sometimes less is more. if u ever have heard of bob ross i recommend watching a video of his,hes a traditional artist but u might learn a thing or two, he perfectly displays how to paint landscape easaly and beautifully, he shows how to achieve a rocky mountain look with few brush strokes without the tidious work of drawing every rock and shadow.
or i recommend Chris Cold on youtube, he blocks out the simple shapes of the mountains and layeres on from that, check it out.

Hey, thanks for the advice, I have change it a little bit, could you tell me if it better ? (I made the character more visible and I gave a link to the "version 3" where I added some myst into the landscape in order to hide some of the overbearings deatils )
As for Bob Ross I often look to his video but I can't yet do like him and paint background that look full of details when they are simple in reality.
For Chris Cold I will give a try to his video whenever I find time ! I already had seen some of his artwork but I didn't kenw he was making videos.
For the color palette of the man, I already tryed using different colors but I couldn't make it work.

i looked over the new ones u linked, i like that u put a more foggy effect on the mountains, makes it alot more bearable and easear to look att without all the glaring details, i like the subtle light u added to the mountains in the distans and i see u made the man alot more visible, i think u made it better even without changing the mans colours.
i noticed one more thing, since this is a big painting and when i looked att it without zooming in it looked kinda messy and dirty, especially the area around the man and bird where the two subjects sorta melted together, it was only when i zoomed in when i saw all the beautifull details u put in the man ,which from a distans looks really odd, i originally thought he had a hood on but then noticed when i zoomed in that it was actually his hair.
this i think is a common problem with big pieces in general, people tend to over detail the painting and focus on small details, and yes it may look really good up close but from a distans no one is gonna notice the small details that get put in. i see especially in yours when i zoom in that the man has som sort of bottles on his coat and a pocket bag thing, those details only get noticed when u really zoom in, which is a shame cuz the man clearly had a lot of work put in to it.
i know thats probably impossible to fix now but consider in future paintings to maybe do with less details and unnessesary features, this brings me back to the point of broader strokes when painting, now im no expert to landscape ATT all but from what ive learned from youtubers is that hinting att small details instead of going in and adding every piece and detail on a microskopic level, look att this drawing etyk.files.wordpress.com/2011/… , when u really look it dosent have alot of detail but with clever use of colour, texture and lighting it looks legit, like in the dragon in the piece, its not very detailed but u get the idea of what it is and it looks stunning and visually pleasing to the eye.
i think that kinda of method can be used on drawing people aswell, but like i said, i myself am TRASH att landscape but i hope it could give u an idea, sorry for the long rant.

This picture is amazing! The Background clearly is the main attraction. There is so much attention to detail! Tone the sky is fantastic! You catch the clouds blending with the light and color. The waterfalls are the next big thing. They add a peaceful and majestic quality to the picture. The cliffs and the creature tie for third. The cliffs work to fill in the piece and give it structure. The creature is an innocent take which I find unique. The body has a serious tone while the face takes on innocence. The man standing next to the creature was hard to see at first. His appearance does not do much for the picture as he is not the main focus.

Hello I'm from . This time I tried something different for make a constructive comment. Your image is truly manificent, the many details add a realism touch with the birds, flowers, grass and also waterfalls. So we can say that, you hardworked on your artwork. You made a good representation about Trico, his feathers have a very well render, it's often the difficult part to do. I love light effects with warm colors, added on a sky with cold colors. It's a good idea to added a depth effect, it's more realistic. The atmosphere give way to an illustration's environment, where our two heroes thinking about our incoming adventure. By the way, it's a good approach for draw another human with Trico. With this, we can tell an another story . But there's a negative point, it's rocks. Don't take this too rude, they're not really make a good wedding with the final render, they need more brushstroke. But this image it's overall very good, keep going with your works and don't worry with the negative point, continue to practice. You can see here the grade :

Bad :
- Many rocks seems not finish, they need more improvement
