LOL, but I really do love Pokemon games (I'm working on Diamond right now on my spankin' new DS Lite! XD) But I think their moral compass is kind of short...
Sorry I couldn't find a way to make it funnier (I was at my grandparents' house when I drew it, and their senile ways were sucking the creativity out from me)
I was going to add this as part of the 100 art theme challenge, but maybe I'll wait until something else comes up ^_^

You could ask the same thing about any other RPG, "children's game" or not, only the age and type of people the heroes are varies from game to game, but the same question still arises. In many aspects, I like to think that somehow, ordinary folks know you're on a quest and'll give you anything to help you in it. Kind of how I think Pokemon is an RPG except you use monsters to fight other monsters instead of impaling them on a sword. LOL
...seriously, breaking into other people's houses and taking what is neccessary to save the day-- most RPG characters have a thing I like to call a "Hero's Permit" which allows them to take anything so long as they save the world. ...but I'm guessing, in Pokemon's case, nobody can say NO to a cute lil' ten-year-old who aspires to be a Pokemon "master"
