Description Strewn is a strange word. Say it with me: Strewn strewn strewn strewn.

This is Mytho from the series Princess Tutu. I drew this last summer because I wanted to draw someone with big eyes. I never posted it because I kept telling myself that I would do a background for it, but it turns out I'm too scared to do a background.

WHITE SPACE wut?

"What is this wonderful peice of artwork?" I said to myself.

Yee I love it! The big eyes add to his 'dollness.' The fact that you put the heart shards in there is awesome, and how they each have a different expression. ^^

Yeah, that is creepy . . . but in a good way. ^-^ Great gradiation with those - pencils, I presume?

"Strewn" is an awesome word. So is "doppleganger." Which might be relevant to this picture in the plural form.

*has an English degree* It's pretty obvious.

Thank you! Yep, I used colored pencils. "Doppleganger" is indeed a good word. I'm really bad at English. I hope it's not obvious. -.-()

No, not at all. Is it your second language? I just have to watch myself because sometimes I use words even native speakers don't know!

Nope, it's my first language, but I've always been bad at spelling. I probably just don't read enough. -.-()

Haha, I'm always afraid to do backgrounds too, so my characters usually live in a world of white. XD

This picture is really good. Umm...I've never watched Princess Tutu before, but he/she (?) is cute.

The white space doesn't look too bad. Though big black space might have worked better. Or just... Lots of dark colours to contrast against the pale ones.

This is real good though! Mytho <3

Yah, I know. I have this thing about drawing on dark colours too, I'm trying to ween myself off the habit when I'm colouring digitally by progressively making the lowest layer a darker grey every time. It's easier to see mistakes/gaps against grey than white anyway

I think it comes from the fact that when you sketch, chances are the paper will be white and that's what you're used to. I feel naked without my white! XD

Ohh, that's a true. For some reason I'm afraid to use big spaces of dark color but I'm not afraid to use big spaces of light color.
