Do you think this would work for real fur as well?

Hm, it may, but some skins are difficult to slice through, just be very careful doing so, and it may work. I haven't really tried it this way, I know for my Raccoon tails, I brushed the fur separate from each other, and cut along the line very carefully (turned out great btw, but took a while), that was because I didn't have any blades at the time.Feel free to try this out on some scraps first, and let me know if it works if you decided to try it.

I actually tried early today on a corner of a scrap of Silver Fox fur that I'm going to be making fox ears with. Going as said fox for Halloween.
Took a bit of work, especially because there was a seam at the edge due to the fact it was a scrap from an old coat, but it worked pretty well.
(Got the scrap from a fur store - one of the people there gave me a wack-ton of scraps. Some pretty nice pieces too, including the Silver Fox tail I'm using.)
I didn't loose too much fur, just a few strands came loose while I was cutting, and that's just because it was on the path of the cut.
Hopefully, when I get around to cutting the ears out, it turns out the same because I did get a nice little triangle of fluff.

Well that's great, and sounds nice, Silver Foxes are really fluffy and soft, If you don't mind, I'll like to see some pictures of the finished product that sounds really sweet. Of course some hair will be lost from the cuts, it's always happens, unless someone is EXTREMELY focused on detail down to the very very small parts. Unfortunately there's no fur stores here, there is one...but that requires a license and the effort to go out and hunt down animals (legally of course, but then again, EVERY part of the animal must be used, it's not kind to waste a life just for the fur/skin on their body.)

Once I'm done and I can wear the ears, I promise I will upload photos!
My uncle has a lot of taxidermy, from road-kill and people who forgot their animals at the taxidermists.
They are fluffy. I want one for a friend.

Well, they do make good friends, ones that you can talk too, and don't have to feed, and they won't judge you back ^^'', I'm planning on picking up several feeders from the exotic pet store to work more on practicing, other than that I usually wait on my dog to bring me a nice squirrel or so. I haven't done much taxidermy work, mostly leather crafts and skeleton/bones. Bones bones bones <3

Very Very good, and so pretty once they are cleaned up to pearly white, or antiqued to a gentle eerie mood that totally changed the atmosphere of a room.

I agree.
I have a dozen or so Bison bones I found in western Canada. They're all at least 500 years old and a really nice rusty brown from the lake water.
Then there's the deer skull and moose jaw. (The latter still has a bit of flesh which has become Jerky.)
And various other ones.
Bones are really neat.

I need more shelf space for all my stuff. There's all kinds of things that need space, from fossils to bones, to war stuff, to myth and magic figures and then books.
Books took over...
