I'm a photog that's been shooting insects for a few years and want to get into stacking... what do you think of Zerene?

Well, it does the job, but it is far from perfect...

Very nice work. Great focus set, covering nearly the entire body. Not accustom to doing this type of imaging (macro stacking), did you find or create your dead subject in this pose?

First point: Subject is not dead It wormed up and left after the "session"...
Second point: Early in the morning, they are cold, and are not moving at "all". I quoted all, since this was third or fourth stack set, since it moved the head little bit, enough to ruin the stack set.

My apologies, I was not trying to cause an issue, just curious. I worked some with a rented 65mm 1-5x macro for a week. I am impressed by what people can accomplish, I found macro photo stacking quite challenging. Thank you for your info.

No problem... , and it is not an issue. Many people think that stack with insects can be shot if a) they are dead or b) frozen/cooled. I prefer to shoot them in natural environment, and I usually do not have more than 2-3 subjects per morning, since after sunrise they are hyperactive...

Counless variations of insects ... I have never seen a lone like this . She reminds me of an offroad-motocross bike or something like that.
