The night air is cold as Duke inhales the acrid smoke, letting it linger in his lungs. One sharp exhale obscures his vision as a dark flash of fur catches his eye. “Manic.. how kind of you to join me..” He says-somewhere between a mumble and a cough-, smacking his first hard against his chest a few times.

All he can see is a bright flash of fangs as his old friend sways- their figure obscured by the purple shadows. Manic tilts their head in a greeting toward the canine, “Duke.. You’re so formal,” They purr, stepping forward and allowing the pale moonlight to gently gleam across their mane, “I thought you’d be excited to see me!” They remark with a teasing grin.

Duke grimaces, stepping closer, “You’re insufferable,” His voice is hollow and flat, “I don’t
want to work with you. Don’t mistake that.”

Manic clasps their paws together enthusiastically, “Likewise!” Another soft purr rumbles in their chest, “Now, let’s talk politics.”
