So why is her top speed somewhere around 1,000 mph? Why not speed of light?

I wanted to make Redline's powerset a little different than a classic Flash/Quicksilver-style speedster so be more distinctive and unique -- and also so she'd work better as a street-level hero in roughly the same class as, say, Spider-Man. Ultra-fast speedsters are so incredibly powerful that it can be hard to come up with believable challenges for them, and even harder to keep their stories from being only about those challenges.

Redline's version of superspeed is meant to make her tough, physical, and devastatingly powerful -- but she still has to work hard for her victories, which I think makes them more interesting and provides more emotional impact.

Too bad Savage Dragon is owned by Image Comics. He and her as Police partners would be downright cool.

really killed it on the lines and those colors are fantastic. I wish I had jumped at this commission deal.

Truly, the life of a superheroine is a difficult one: The danger, the violence, the potential for seriously embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions -- and on top of all that -- supervillains, paparazzi, and other assorted malcontents constantly trying to sneak up on you from behind.

It's a (concrete) jungle out there!
