The guy with the googley eyes in the far back is a little, er, eye catching, heh.
But yeah, lovely set up, and you caught some great expressions off them.

I am not a fan of the Clintons, but the reason why I'd fav this, because this is a pretty rare moment to take picture of as a photojournalism. Also, I just like how it look that Bill is dozing off from his own wife's long and boring speech.
PS, the dude in upper-left look creepy, like he glaring at her.

Her being in sharp focus in that power red blazer with President Clinton in the background is what makes this is a great photo. I'm impressed you caught this moment.
Disappointed in the misogynistic and "Why is this a DD" comments. Sometimes I think the comments reveal more about the commenters than they do the art. Meh.

Actually, I meant it reveals their small-minded nastiness. And I'm not probably right; I definitely am.

Have you considered peoples concerns about this being chosen merely because it is Hilary, and not because of it artistic qualities? I don't see anything remarkable about the picture. Yes, it is professional quality picture, but I have seen hundreds like it on tv, the internet, newspapers, etc.. Obviously since she is running for presidency, and he is her husband, he will surely be in the background at most of her speeches. I fail to see irony in that, but then I'm apparently small minded....
Ad Hominem.

Merely because it's Hilary? Um, I'm sure the fact that it's Hilary played a LARGE part in why it was chosen. And why shouldn't it? The woman is running for president. Had someone snapped an interesting picture of John McCain or Barrack Obama, I wouldn't have been surprised (or disappointed) to see it highlighted by dA.
The fact that Bill is in the background is not ironic, merely interesting. His candid expression is interesting. To me at least. If you don't find it interesting, that doesn't make you small-minded. However if you made a nasty comment to the photographer (who does not choose the DD's, after all) that WOULD you make small-minded...or least nasty and petty. Get it?

First of all, I'm rooting for Clinton right now.
That being said...
I am not trying to be "nasty" to the photographer, here. It's a great shot; but nothing special.
While I suppose the neutrality of the image (it doesn't particularly try to say anything for or against Clinton) would deem it fair-game to be displayed as a DD, I fail to see why the shot deserves to be featured on the front page for all to see.
By the way, there are dozens of equally great shots of Obama (and even a few of McCain) that certainly have not been featured.

I tend to feel a good portion of DDs each day aren't terribly good. Few are actually bad, but there's quite a few that are just so-so.
So unless other people have suggested those photos of McCain and what not for DDs and they haven't gone through, I wouldn't see it as biased or anything. Maybe they have been suggesting them and I'm just not aware of it *shrugs*
Wouldn't be surprised to see Obama and McCain getting their spots over the next few days, either to prove no bias, or because of people screaming for it.

The fact that plenty of DD's are featured "undeservedly" is beside the point. The issue here is that it's believable -- given current events -- that it was featured for political reasons, which could be seen as unfair since deviantart is considerably valuable advertising space.

I'm just too fond of people insulting the DD recipients. Sure, I have my issues with some of the choices made, but I don't hold it against the audience...and perhaps I'm just too lollipops and rainbows for some, but I just believe that if I don't have anything nice to say that perhaps I shouldn't say anything at all. Critiques are one thing...I'm not sure "it's nothing special" qualifies as one.

Again, i'm not criticizing the photograph or the photographer. I'm criticizing the fact that it is being featured as a DD.
The issue is political. As i've said, the shot has it's merits, but it's easier for me to believe that the reason it was featured is politically-oriented. Maybe i'm a cynic.
Right now, it's a close race. Is it fair that those with a little more power use it to help their favorite candidate score a few more points? Now, this may or may not be the case, but i feel it's my responsibility to be wary of things like this. I'm sorry if i've offended anyone.
I don't even like following politics.

Going around showing him off after what he had done to her, using his name and face as a campaign banner - this woman must have no honor at all. Or at least her need of power is bigger than that. How humiliating.

The first thing that caught my attention was the guy in the upper-left that was apparently wearing glasses and so all you get is two bright dots from his two lenses.
Otherwise, a good use of focus.

Why is this featured? There's nothing special about it. Can I expect some pictures of any Republican candidates being featured? I'm not holding my breath.

I personally think Clinton looks hideous in this picture.
I don't think you can consider any of the Republican candidates as 'candidates' anymore. McCain pretty much clinched the nomination.
And as for why this is featured over pictures of Republican candidates? Because this one was taken by a deviant.

Yeah, I see nothing spectacular with this photo, either. I maybe thought because of how Bill looks in the photo, but the author doesn't mention anything about him.
Other than that, this photo is just as mundane as most photos. He captured her talking. Good job, as if she keeps her mouth shut.

Eh, it's a pro quality photo, and having Bill in the back adds interest. It's also timely. I haven't seen a photo like this of a Democrat or Republican on Dev art before (not that I've actually been looking.)
Go find a pic of a Republican and suggest it for a DD, I'm all for equal exposure.
