General combat type: Lorcan is mainly a support type. Due to his lack of defense and strength, he makes up for it with speed and relies on critical hits to land actual damage. Most his skills tend to focus on increasing speed, evasion, and occasionally, defense, as well as minor healing spells - enough to heal small cuts and wounds but nothing more.
ACTIVE
🜁 WINDS OF THE SUMMIT | OFFENSIVE | BEGINNER
Description:
- This spell takes form as a flurry of wind that is faintly visible to the naked eye. It gathers wind around the target and their immediate surrounding area; getting hit would be akin to feeling as if one is being rushed through with miniature blades, and successful hits would appear like minor cuts, far from serious, but stings.
Technicalities:
- It is an AoE spell that covers a 5m radius, centered around the target.
- Long range casting but target must be within sight.
- Each cast delivers 3-5 hits per. Instant cast.
Flaws && Limitations:
- Unusable for the next (1) turn.
- Easily blocked/dodged/avoided simply by stepping out of the spell’s area of effect once it’s cast.
- Not too high on damage and relies on multiple and critical hits to build up damage.
- Damage is weakened if there are more than two targets within area of effect since total damage is divided among targets.
🜁 WIND'S WHISPER | SUPPORT/BUFF | BEGINNER
Description:
- A gentle gust of cool air surrounds target, rises from the ground similar to a whirlwind, and disperses with a quiet sigh. This leaves the target feeling almost weightless and a sensation similar to an adrenaline rush. If the target was a degree exhausted or hurt, this spell will help them recover their breath, expel any hint of exhaustion, and heal minor cuts.
Technicalities:
- SPD +2 for 3 minutes (2 turns).
- Can only be cast on one person at a time (ally or self).
Flaws && Limitations:
- LUK -1. 30 minutes cooldown (5 turns).
- Since this spell somehow figuratively turns the target into “a small whirlwind”, their accuracy and defense are lowered since their focus will be on speed and evading. In a way, it may, for the duration of the spell, cause the targets to act recklessly. It’s more preferable and advisable to use for escaping rather than fighting.
🜁 STEEL FEATHER | DEFENSIVE | BEGINNER
Description:
- This spell works pretty much like a “cocoon” in essence. The user encases himself with his feathers which would then glow a faint light. His feathers grow in length until they can easily wrap around him - especially the ones that grow from his arms and down his back. His hair as well seems to merge along with these feathers, forming some sort of homogenous, malleable material. This method takes a while to complete and once it does, the user will be fully encased in a semi-translucent sphere. One interesting thing to note is that the glow that this “encasement” emits seem to “breathe” rather than just a consistent glow. The user would be slightly visible from anyone who would attempt to look in from the outside, and would find him in a state similar to sleeping.
Technicalities:
- Only available during fae form.
- Takes 10 minutes to complete casting (1 full turn). Can be cancelled voluntarily at any time but cooldown will still apply.
Flaws && Limitations:
- 24 hours cooldown (lasts 3-5 turns, depending on the pacing of the roleplay).
- The user is unable to move or cast other spells during casting and throughout the duration of the spell. He will also have no awareness to what is happening around him as he is placed in a sleep-like state.
- The casting can be interrupted if user is stunned or critically damaged. On such an event, the damage received will be doubled.
- The spell is cancelled if it receives 3 hits at most, less if the damage is greater. If spell is disrupted this way, user would be rendered unconscious for a considerable amount of time. Usually could take a day - longer depending on how much damage was dealt.
- User reverts back to human form once spell is cancelled or if duration is over - mana will still be used up in its entirety even if it’s cancelled. Since this spell uses up most if not all of user's mana, this spell must only be used as a last resort. At most, user can only cast one more spell after this spell.
PASSIVE
🜁 FAE FORM
Lorcan’s fae form turns him into a “winged” creature. However, it might probably more fitting to describe him as a feathered creature rather than winged since his “wings” are just his arms which possess feathers, allowing him to be capable of flight. These feathers grow not only from his arms but also on different places on his body, such as his chest and back. Aside from this, some changes include a variation in skin tone, slightly longer and clawed fingers, and a smaller, lighter body which makes it easier for him to take flight.
Healing +20%. His build takes on a lighter and smaller (hah shorter - like, he slightly shrinks down to 4ft) build than normal.
🜁 FLIGHT
Speed +2. Only available in fae form. Can be performed for as long as stamina allows. Full recovery period is 10 minutes (2-3 turns). User can attempt flight before recovery period is over but flight time is considerably shortened.
User is also unable to carry a person with him or anything that is of considerable weight. The reason behind this is because the user would need full usage of his arms as his “wings” are technically just the feathers growing out of his arms, and not a separate appendage.

Lorcan was generally quiet and withdrawn as a child, only choosing to interact with his brother. As a result, this allowed Lorcan to be a bit more observant and intuitive than normal - two traits which rarely ever failed him. Just like every other fae in their court, despite his rare interaction to the fae around him, Lorcan is very loyal to his community, especially to his brother.
As he grew and stepped outside the boundaries of his hometown, his curiosity became more apparent. The same can be said about his determination - a trait that came with a degree of stubbornness - when it came to pursuing his interests. As he went on through his travels, his personality adapted. Living among humans and being discriminated against, Lorcan had to strengthen himself. While keeping himself distanced from people, he learned to become more confident, more self-assured, in a way that may almost seem arrogant to some. It was a matter of survival - he can’t appear to be weak else he’ll be made a target for unpleasant behavior. In connection, he became quite a bit aggressive when confronted. Choosing to fight back (verbally though, he's not a physical guy), even preemptively, has become a defensive mechanism that he’s picked up along the way.
Despite this though, Lorcan is still somewhat naive and oblivious to the “world below the mountain.” There may be times where he might end up offending people with his obliviousness but this is rarely on purpose, if ever. And while Lorcan had picked up traits that allowed him to survive in a world mostly dominated by humans, he still stays, at heart, mischievous, sensitive and soft-hearted. Granted he's comfortable enough, he won't say no to pulling a prank or two. And while he isn't the best person to be on the receiving end of such pranks, he appears to be more tolerant - even laughing along - if it was with a person he's comfortable with. It may not be obvious at first glance but if one spends enough time with him, such traits have a tendency to come out every so often - mostly without Lorcan himself realizing it.

Within the arctic mountains of Terra lies the hidden city of Amaranth. Home to a small number of fae which is governed by the House of Zyma - otherwise known as the Winter Court.
A pair of twins were born in a nearby town, Lorcan being the younger one by a few minutes. Unlike his brother, Lorcan preferred to stay indoors with the company of his books. But their town only had limited resources, and Lorcan's curiosity was ever growing. And it was because of this that Lorcan found himself leaving home and moving into the main city of Amaranth. Here he spent the next few years under the tutelage of the professors in the academy with an unlimited access to its library which he deeply coveted. But knowledge and theories could only satisfy Lorcan for so long. Soon, he craved for more. To see more. To experience more.
After receiving permission, Lorcan travelled down the mountain. But things don't exactly happen as expected. No amount of knowledge could prepare him for the reality that was waiting for him in the first human settlement he came across with. He was aware of the strained ties between human and fae, but the amount of discrimination was something that still caught him off guard. But Lorcan was a stubborn, determined individual. He was not going to turn back in vain and disappoint not only the people back home but himself as well. And so he persevered.
Town after town Lorcan travelled, moving from academy to academy, steadily increasing his knowledge. And through these experiences, he improved. He changed.
It was a few days after arriving in his current town that he heard the rumors of a faire. Despite his better judgment, he found himself walking through a crowd, if not a bit impressed at the sights around him. It seemed to be a barren landscape during the day, but at night, it transformed into a carnival which bustled with activity. But apparently, that was not all that was waiting for him. Catching sight of a group of students from what he suspected was an academy that was supposed to have met an unfortunate fate some time ago, Lorcan found himself gravitating towards them.
Hoping against hope.
Perhaps luck would be on his side this time.

Mornings - or waking up early. Ironically though, he claims the best meal of the day is breakfast. Even if said breakfast is taken at 2 pm.

More than once he’s been mistaken as female and he’s gotten so used to it he really couldn't care less now.
Height is a sensitive thing. If you're taller than him, he may or may not have planned on taking out your ankles in your sleep. If you're shorter than him though, you're automatically on his "list of favorite people."
He has a surprisingly huge appetite. It's a wonder where all that food goes. It obviously doesn't add anything to his weight.. or height for that matter.

He decided to grow his hair during his travels in order to hide his ears from humans and avoid being discriminated against. He's only become more confident in showing his ears lately, now being able to tie them back in twin tails behind his head.
When he can't sleep at night, he writes letters for his twin back home.
