Description
Aaaand a little bit of a throwback... Still not quite sure if I made the top one in 2013 or 2012, but holy... Practise and dedication is all it takes, tbh I'm so proud of how much I've improved since then and I'm gonna keep working hard to get even better at itΒRelated content

It's always encouraging to look back and realize how much you've improved, and you can see a marked difference between these two illustrations. I also like the content of the drawing itself, and love the touch of the hockey jerseys.

Wow. I find it hard to pick a fav. Both are really good in different ways.
I like the 2013 better for the expressions on the characters' faces, imo they are sweeter and give off a cuter feeling.
But the 2016 is definitely better in terms of anatomy and clothes, I also really love how the haircuts look.
You've done a great job !

Being honest, there are parts of both that are really nice xD
The newer one has brighter colors, and the faces are more expressive, along with more realistic looking clothing. But I really like the feel of the older one. Their calm, faces with small smiles, a clear sense of a romantic moment.
The newer is still a clear improvement, but it ain't like it was bad back then xD

Clownshark, he's just saying an opinion, people like you really need to know that you can't mix opinions with facts, and what az1598525 said is an opinion, not a fact.

there's a complete difference between speaking an opinion, and straight up disrespecting and insulting an artist???????

He/she never insulted an artist, plus this is just an opinion for one piece of art, plus say that to the other people in the comment section, not just one person

??? what do you mean by "say that to the other people in the comment section"??? not a single other person has been blatantly rude like they have.
i've only seen a few individuals touch on the topic, but the difference is that they either left constructive criticism or said they liked both. az1598525 left a comment saying "the first one was better" along with an icon of someone flipping the bird.
that's an insult to the artist. that's telling them straight up "you haven't improved at all : )" that's not constructive criticism. they didn't even have the fucking time to explain why they found the first one better. they just ended it with a "fuck you".
get your facts straight, dude. there's a difference between politely stating an opinion and an impolite comment with no explanation behind it.

Overall it still an opinion, I'm just discussing the statement itself, not what type of opinion.

yes, many things can be considered an opinion.
but that doesn't make them alright. you don't really have a reason i can see to be arguing with me over this.
in the end i know it's an opinion. frankly, it seems like the only reason you replied to me was to remind me of that.
the statement itself was rude. the statement was inconsiderate and hurtful. the statement had no real reasoning or explanation behind it and can be taken as a plain old insult.Β
i could make a statement right now about how "i think all jews are filthy and need to die for [reason 1] and [reason 2]"(this is an example, nothing more), and anyone on this site could argue about how that's "just my opinion." yet, masking my statement in "it's only his opinion" doesn't magically make the statement itself not hurtful and not rude. that's the point i'm trying to make.
artists are people. things you say can hurt them. some artists don't take well to unsolicited insults.

Well, the thing is, you're taking this argument way to deep, I'm not arguing if that's hurtful or not, it's just a reminder, and yes he/she is a dick (if you saw one of the comments on his/her artwork), but I'm just saying, you didn't really have to put an effort to confront him, his/her comment isn't a fact it's an opinion, you should've just completely ignored him/her.

i'm not confronting them for my own sake, pal. i'm confronting them because as an artist, i know comments like that can hurt.
i'm confronting them hoping they'd realize that they pulled a dick move, and maybe not do it again. who knows, but atleast i can try.

However All of your artwork is awesomely done, the second time you did it, the 2016, looks like they are more engaged in each other though. Great job on both, thank you so much for sharing!!Β
