Description
This is my real-life dog Max, in toony form. Originally it was going to be an old character of mine, but the sketch started looking more like Max, so I went with that. I drew him after looking at and sketching from several pictures of frisbee-catching dogs; I used them for reference and inspiration, but this pose isn't directly based on any particular one.

Of course, I've never seen Max jump that high. XD (His "sister" Athena is more the acrobatic type.) He's not a frisbee dog, but hey, this is fantasy. On the other hand, he really is missing a toe from his left hind paw; I didn't feel quite right leaving that out.

His tongue is a little purplish because he's part chow. ^^

I actually had this more or less finished about a month ago, but I put off uploading it because I was being finicky; I wanted to show the subtleties of his coat more realistically, instead of just making him a solid color, but I couldn't pull it off. I didn't bother shading it, either. I just recently added in some random swirls (glowing ribbons?) to an uninteresting blue background, and I'm calling it done for now. XD
