Description
Those of you who have played D&D will know what this is about ^_^(When we play, rolling a 1 for anything means that something BAD will happen to whoever rolled it. EX: Rolling a 1 on a spot check to see if an area is safe or not will lead you into an Ambush) *cough* *cough* *couMEREDITHgh*
And yes, that is my character sheet that the HUGE die is on.

My first roll ever in DnD was a natural 1.

I rolled a one once, when my half-elven sorceress was trying to shoot a monster. The arrow instead hit the closest thing, which happened to be my then-boyfriend's character. Good thing he was wearing armor. XD

Noticed everyone is sharing their botch stories lol. my turn XD (sorry for double post)
our party was fighting in a tournament. Our cleric goes into the arena and is met by one of our enemies. She starts to cast finger of death on him but since she is in range she gets an attack of opportunity. He crits her and chops off her hand, with the spell in it. She rolls a d20 and botches, so the severed hand housing the death spell turns around and hits her in the face. She rolls her save and botches again. Instantly pwnd in the first round XD

Well when you roll a 20 on any kind of save/check it means something awesome happens... however if you roll a 1, you fail and something simple turns into something horrible!
Like... trying to cast a fireball at someone, and instead you explode lol

Our GM wouldnt have made it do 1 Dmg... he'd be like, "okay, the lightning bolt makes you explode and everyone around you gets hit"

Reminds me of the time I first played D&D. I was level 2 and got killed the heck out of by a fire beetle and a random pitfall...and a horrible die roll. It stinks that wizards can't have plate mail. I mean, you can still cast spells even if you're wearing a hunk of metal, right?
Still, I love D&D.

The excuse most games, GMs and other things use is that the metal is conductor for the magic, meaning that the plate mail would make the magician hurt himself whenever he'd charge a spell

Lol. Okay so My friend Caleb was rolling to hit and if he missed he got 2d6 damage. So he misses and was like 'okay 2 damage!" and my DM was like 'nonononooo!. It's 2 6d's! don't try to jip me!" so he rolls two d sixes and guess what? He got 2 1s on them xD

Yeah, our dungon master rolled a 1 on the D20 a while ago for one of the characters we were fighting and he ended up swinging too hard, missing, and choping of his own head. XD

Lucky for me, so does the DM, and we useually do a do-over.
However, occasionally the dice aren't lying, and the do-over?
exactly the same. or worse.
