Meet Solar Flare, the best friend of Snowfall! The two grew up in a foster home together, sometimes being separated but never falling out of touch with the other. Sol, like many young pegasi, wants to be a Wonderbolt and is currently a trainee. Her ambition runs deep and all she wants is for everypony to know her name. While Solar is sure of herself and her skills, she doesn't act cocky. Instead, Sol is completely mean-spirited and manipulative, using whatever means necessary to get what she wants out of life. Although she doesn't ever admit it, not even to Snowfall, she struggles with the fact that her parents put her up for adoption and to her, abandoned her because they didn't want her. She doesn't know who her parents are, not for sure, but Sol is determined to make the ponies who gave her away realize how big of a mistake they made by becoming as famous as possible in spite of them. And right now, her biggest rival is Wonderbolt trainee Downburst, who seems to have everything given to her on a silver platter.
