Description Is that what you heard?
Broken words in the dirt
Yelling out
Into the sun
Here we come
Here we come

^ Tristam and Braken, "Frame of Mind"

This was originally just a practice with a new painting style- but it quickly turned into an effects and shading practice. Im pretty happy with how it turned out, especially just for practice.

i say 9 out of 10 bananas.I love the way you drew it at a cool angle. However i d say it lookes like it has a story to tell you know a picture makes up for a 1000 words =]also the way the sun shines is also very cool and i have not seen many pictures that show this. You look like you put a lot of time this and this picture should get you more followers.I can stop thinking of what the story is and that is what drives people to see more of your art just all the hard and good work is most amazing

Thank you very much! I am perfectly happy with 9/10 bananas. There is some stuff I need to fix, but it seems to be attracting a lot of attention how it is now, haha. As for the story, well, it's up to the viewer. I have no specific story in mind for this. People can draw their own conclusions.

Thanks again! ^-^Β  Β

This is really fucking cool. (Can I cuss on this site? I don't know yet, I just made my account today.)

There's several things I just really love about this image. I love the concept behind it alone, but I think it just really works well with the background and the forground. The light peaking out from behind Lucario's chest and head just tellls a story on its own, but then there's the actual shape of Lucario, with the cape bellowing behind it. I love the shape that you gave that cape- I love seeing exactly how the wind is catching it. It actually brings sounds to my ears, hearing the cape rustle as it fights with itself to keep near or take flight.

The image overall gives me a very good feel. I'm drowning in the feeling of adventure, of solitude, of new horizons. It's just really, really cool.

You need to lay low on the brush effects, however. I can tell that you're trying to figure things out here, where to use what, how to use it, how much to use it, and so on, but it brings the quality of this otherwise very striking image down. Mostly the grass is what hurts this, but a lot of the edges in general look very awkward, like on the cape with the red and the white.

The image also looks like it is of a very low save quality. When you're saving, try to make note not to just save as the default settings for .jpg, or just go with a .gif. If you do .jpg, that's fine, but make sure you are on the highest quality (which would make the file size larger). If you want to save it with the best quality possible to upload it on the internet or share it with friends, or whatever, I would suggest saving it as a .png. The quality of the save file also brings down this image in a way that's sad- like look around the sun coming from behind Lucario- there's just a lot of articles.

Beyond that, there's a few more bits of advice I feel like I can give. One, it's okay to use high contrast shading. The feet, in particular, look especially light for something that is facing the opposite direction from the sun and is black. In fact, the shadows attached to the feet don't look nearly dark enough either. While I like that you put lighting on the outside of Lucario to show how the sun hits it, you do need to up the contrast and put a lot more and darker shading at the places the sun cannot reach.

All in all, I love this. It has great imagination and it feels really good.

Thank you so much. Really, this is exactly what I need and im very greatful. o3o

While I can blame part of the awkwardness on my stupid tablet being broken, leaving me to work with Photoshop Touch and a 2 year old tablet that can't really handle it, my lack of experience has a huge part in this as well. I have no idea how to do grass. Ive been wrangling with figuring out shadows and contrast since day 1. As you said, I'm trying to figure things out. ^-^ Ill try to save things as .png in the future, since that is something I know how to do.Β

Really, though, I cannot stress enough how greatful I am with this. I'll keep your advice in mind, try to learn how to draw grass (*glares at grass*) and be less afraid to use shadows.Β

Also, swear all you want. Just follow group rules and stuff. DA has no actual rules against it, but groups will frown upon It sometimes.

Woop first critique! Well, I have to say it's a very good piece. Even though you say you drowned it in effects, it looks very well thought out, and very pretty. It's just so very nice and much better than what I can do, haha (And that's the truth)

I'd wish to know the story on this if there is one, but that's besides the point. I'm just going to say what I think. It's great! I gave 4.5 stars because there's always room for improvement!

And hopefully this critique makes sense because on occasion I tend to ramble, like right now in fact, and I'm totally not just attempting to make it to the minimum with this sentence. (But seriously, I believe you did a great job!)

Well is my first time receiving one, so it's a first for both of us! Thank you very much!Β

There is no actual story to this, but the song I used for inspiration is up at the top bc it refused to paste where I wanted it to. XD I was just kinda messing around with different styles, and it turned into this. X3 And of course, a 5 star rating would not be deserved. The is a lot I could have done better, but my tablet was starting to lag from the sheer amount of layers I was using, so I had to call it quits. XD

No, the critique was fine, not rambly at all, dun worry 'bout it. And thanks again! Β :3

I judged it was all OK! It was taking me a while to look at your art, it was pretty with the sunset e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/> I like how you colored the background, I love Lucario's cape it makes him calm. I'm not sure how long you drew this art, maybe it takes like an hour maybe? I'm not good of making a shady color, I feel lazy for that xD

(Still need more words minimum to go!)

Also, sometimes sunset makes me feel sad because I think the day would end of this world. The next day always tomorrow. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
